=>No specific tease.
Article gives info about the event. But the Crown is on par with the NIT so that is something Miami could consider.
Miami is NOT playing in the CIT which has not announced a field. I know that much.
Looks like they only want power teams, also there should be an extra spot in the CBI now since Riverside made both the CBI and NIT
Miami is not interested in the CBI
This is such a bummer. How can you beat a team in your conference 3x and finish higher than them in the regular season and the conference tournament and see them get picked first?
Why wouldnāt we be? We havenāt won a postseason tournament game in over 25 years.
So, no chance of Crown bid. Looks like we are staying home.
I still canāt get over a team from our conference that we beat 3 times getting an NIT bid over us. Itās inconceivable!
The CBI and CIT are fake tournaments that exist solely so the operators can extract participation bribe money from teams desperate to keep playing. Most games arenāt even broadcast.
The CBI is supposed to be a 16 team tournament, but they were only able to find 12 teams willing to pay to enter, which is now down to 11 with UC Riverside withdrawing. Totally fine with the program saying they want no part of that.
=>I would have preferred to play in CIT or CBI. THIS TEAM needs to keep playing and maybe build something.
It was the NIT bid that we deserved. Only post-season tournament outside of NCAAāS worth taking. ( w the assumption that Crown didnāt want non power conference teams).
I think it sends a negative signal that you can be on a 25 win Miami team and not even receive a post season offer that over 125 teams will get
This reminds me of the Randy WAlker team that went 10-1, beating UNC, Army and UC, and lost the Las Vegas Bowl bid to UNC.
This might actually be worse, considering the number of teams that get postseason invites today.
It is possible that Kent is an automatic NIT bid. Auto bids were for teams with a 125 or better average power ranking of 6 different ratings⦠Their NET ranking was around that area.
Didnāt you also have to win your conference to be an auto bid?
There were a number of ways to qualify but for the MAC with a league ranked outside the top 12 then Kent would have had to have won the conference to get that auto bid inside of 125
I guess the lesson here is letās not schedule Non D1 teams anymore. There are plenty of āsmallerā schools like Central Arkansas, NJIT, West Georgia or anyone from the Big South etc to help keep the schedule manageable. At least those are games that count in the win column.
Rob Senderoff has no character, honor, or integrity. Heās a dumpy loser. Do we have any other players ready to flunk out that he can jump all over immediately?
Non D1 games donāt affect NET ranking. Kent also played Miami-Hamilton and Heidelberg, two non D1 teams.
So thats definitely not the lesson. Also, scheduling two Big South teams instead of two non D1 teams costs an extra 150k-200k per season. You writing that check? Miami will definitely accept it and then buy the games you want if so.
Correct, Non D1 games have no affect on NET, but that also does hurt when you cannot earn any NET for a road win or win in general.
Can you schedule 1 for 1 with some of those schools to avoid the ābuyā??
