Postseason?

Somehow Kent remains ahead of us despite us being 3-0 against them which should probably show that it is flawed as a metric

That’s the year the MAC was trending toward three or four bids until they redid the RPI calculation mid-season. My rant “Bob Bowlsby: Crony Capitalist” is buried under the rubble of the old site, but I stand by the sentiment.

Bob Bowlsby… similar to this year with UNC, “Oh look, Iowa just managed to snag a bid when its AD is leading the committee. What are the chances???”

Seems like the first team confirmed

Is that a real team? The unis look like something from an Eighties teen comedy.

I honestly had to look up which WAC team has Wolverines as its mascot. If I initially noticed the logo on the shorts, I could have figured it out. But still, we’ve reached the point in which an NIT announcement is met with the reaction of “wait, which team is this?”

Hopefully a good sign for more mid majors and less power conference teams

Van surfing is a homecoming tradition out there

The WAB column in the NET rating is very interesting and more correct in my eyes. It has Akron and Miami much higher. Miami is 20 spots or so above Kent (hey, that makes sense!) and close to Troy.

Under current rules, every conference in the top 14 is guaranteed at least one autobid to the NIT, regardless of whether they won the regular season championship. That includes the Big West, Ivy League, Missouri Valley, and WAC this year.

The MAC was 23rd this year, behind conferences like the Big South, Horizon League, Big Sky, and Southland.

Looks like Chattanooga and Northern Colorado will also get autobids due to being regular season champs in the top 125.

NIU can’t leave soon enough

Dropping NIU and adding UMass still only gets us to 20th. We’d need to drop NIU, add UMass, and improve the conference’s average ranking by 20 spots before we’d get a guaranteed NIT spot.

=>Miami will be in the NIT field once this block gets in the hole.

8 mins till we find out

Toledo women were rewarded Minnesota at home in the WNIT for losing the MAC championship

Going up 3 spots is actually bigger than I thought because UMass wasnt good this year

If Miami isn’t in the field, it’s a kick in the teeth at 9:30 for the second consecutive night.

If we aren’t in now I will throw a fit

BS

As I said above, the NIT isn’t watching game tape or even looking up teams. They are sorting by NET ranking. And Kent was 30 spots better than us.
