The pre-game party is at Tom’s Watch Bar, pretty close to the stadium. Starts at 10:00.
As for eating in Downtown Pittsburgh, here’s a range of recommendations (I once lived there and still get back)… Eddie Merlots (high-end steak house), City Works (a higher-end sports bar), Niki’s Thai Kitchen (Pittsburgh has a surprising number of Thai restaurants, and this is a good one), Meat & Potatoes (higher-end comfort food), con Alma (jazz club with decent food, or go there for live music after dinner).
There’s also a Rib Festival going on the entire weekend near the stadium. I’ve never attended. In fact, there are a few decent places to eat across the Allegheny River on the North Shore (eg, North Shore Tavern, across from PNC Park). Easy walk across from downtown.

We have enough kids on our roster this year who have played in one or more P-4 games, or been on a P-4 team and who have game experience against P-4 opponents to know what all of CM’s moaning and gnashing of teeth is all about.
This is a game we should play to win, or as Randy Walker used to say: “We need to punch them in the mouth before they get any ideas.” Sounds good to me.
I’ll be curious to see how Miami’s program has changed (hopefully) for the better with all of the roster additions this year.

The only hope we have is a 13-12 per Chuck. If we don’t hold them to 12 or under Katie bar the door!
I’d add Revel and Roost to the list of options if you are in Market Square. Probably won’t be as crowded as some of the more popular places, but it’s a solid mid-level option (not fine dining but not cheap either).
The place to go if you can get a table is Gaucho on 6th and Penn. Argentinian steak house, very good.

Way to motivate the guys, and let em know how much you believe in them, Coach. Now they’ll have a winning mindset, and be ready to go. Ugh.
You know, it’s not like Coach doesn’t realize that we’ve had multiple players get plucked by bigger schools every offseason. He knows how many talented guys we’ve had. It’s not like he’s coaching the club squad. But his entire mentality and attitude is blind to that fact whenever we play a team from a bigger conference. He just checks out mentally, “oh, well these guys are so much better than we are, what a massive talent gap, blah blah blah.” It’s such a terrible mentality to have for someone in his position as a leader of men.

Unfortunately it’s a pervasive culture that infects our whole approach to OOC games, not just power teams. Going 4-22 against other G5 programs (two wins being UMass, other two being bowls) is just pathetic, even if a lot of those were UC. Should we cower before UConn too?
Chuck is who he is, I know better than to get my hopes up before Week 1. I’m happy to be wrong about him like 2023, but that season was probably an outlier.
