Patrick Flavin

Flavin in next week’s John Deere Classic on a sponsor’s exemption.

Three straight PGA Tour events for a non-exempt player is pretty rare.

Hope he can take advantage.

That’s the tournament Brad Adamonis nearly won a decade ago. If memory serves correct, he lost to Kenny Perry in a playoff. Maybe some of that magic will shine on Patrick.

Also, Kenny Perry autocorrected to Kenny Rogers and I almost left it on principle.

-1 first round. Well back of the leader (-9), but he’ll have another shot at making the cut.

I see.

Holy hell! Patrick made the cut and is in 14th place! Epic!

Really nice round today. The rain has made the course really susceptible to low scores. Glad Patrick was able to take advantage and set himself up for the weekend.

The Golf Channel showed a nice par save on his final hole. You might think they mentioned his penchant for Monday qualifying…and you’d be right.

He needs to go real aggressive as it could make his season. No need to play for low money now. He’s making at least 17k for his next 2 rounds.

Patrick needs to finish no worse than solo 33rd in order to earn enough points to gain entry to the Korn Ferry Tour finals. Which is a 3 tournament series to earn a PGA Tour card.

He needs to get a top 10 finish, then get a sponsors exemption into another event and then another top 10 finish. And maybe another. Will Zalatorious style! Screw the tour qualifying. Make your own weather!

-3 today, -9 overall for the tournament. Currently T-27, so he’ll need another good round to secure a top 30 finish

I believe he had it down to -11 before he fell back a couple strokes to par on back 9.

Still a big step. Just needs to play aggressive tmrow.

Patrick just teed off and birdies the first hole to get to -10.

If he plays aggressive and gets a little luck, he could set his career on a new path today. Needs to go in the 60’s

Yes, perfect conditions today and expect a lot of low scores…Patrick was 11 under last time I checked but there are many guys bunched around that number so he will need to get to 12-13 under for a chance at top 20.

Exactly. Already a 64 and five 66’s posted.

The year Brad Adamonis almost won this event, he had a round of 62 on Saturday I believe. 62! Just insane to score that low. I played Passatiempo once when it was blowing like 50 miles per hour and I think I had that after 9. Not that the wind is an excuse. Course is a real asskicker.
