I don’t think he ever started. Most of his playing time was on special teams from what I gather.

It was special teams. He got very little PT on the OL. But that is ok. Talented player.

Miami extends an offer to former Michigan State WR Terry Lockett Jr. Terry lettered his first two years at MSU, but left the team prior to the OSU game this year after not seeing action in any of the previous games.
Coming out of high school, he was a 3 star prospect and a top 100 WR in the country. He held multiple big ten offers before choosing MSU. We appear to be his only offer in the portal as of now. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Miami offers former Dartmouth OG Michael Flores (6’3 300 lbs). Michael also holds an offer from UMass.
What makes this a little more interesting is that Michael’s brother, John, is also in the portal. He transferred from Dartmouth last year and spent the 2022 season at Virginia. Now he’s back in the portal as a grad transfer. It’s unclear if they intend to play together for their last seasons. John is being much more heavily recruited at this point, although he does not currently hold a Miami offer. Miami did attempt to recruit him the last time he was in the portal. Curious if we make an offer to John as well in the hopes of landing both of them.
That would be cool, if we feel we have immediate guard openings, or they want chance to play together.
We do appear to be in need of WRs, hopefully that gets sorted.

He’s been here 5 years…I mean I don’t blame kids/guys like him for giving it a try maybe closer to home or somewhere else bigger, potentially.

I would have liked to have seen Shelton’s career arc without the devastating injury a couple years ago. He was on his way to being an elite back in this league. Bummer.
I’m excited to see Jordan Brunson (Virginia Tech transfer) get some reps next season.

Tyre Shelton and Austin Robinson both entered the portal yesterday.
Shelton has been at Miami 5 years. Robinson 4 years.
If they can better themselves, good luck to them both.

…and anyone here aware of why Brunson didn’t see more action…was he hurt most of the year?

It seems like we’re are seeing a lot of guys we’ve recruited from the South jump in the portal the past couple of years. This year both Saunders and Robinson are from NC, Shelton and Dorsey are from Georgia, Battiste is from Louisiana/Tennessee, etc, etc. Some of last year’s guys who left - Burns was from Charlotte - were from down South, too.
Maybe we need to get a dietician and a chef up to Oxford who specialize in southern cookin’.
