Cracked the list!
Gonzaga is NOT a mid major anymore. Such tired terminology. Come up with something new: “less monetized”.
Are you unhappy with the fairly standard definition they used at the bottom of the page?
Next year they will be in the expanded PAC2. May not be included then?
I would guess that’s when they drop too. Former Pac-12 members aren’t included in the current poll.

# Former Pac-12 schools Oregon State and Washington State are not eligible for the Poll.
The CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 is now in its 26th season of existence.
Why isn’t Cincinnati included? They’re forever a mid-major.
Funny enough, the last time Miami was in the poll was after beating Georgia Tech and the thread also derailed to Gonzaga and then CUSA.
@The_Sackman made the same joke too
Some comedy is timeless.
Stick to the hits. No one wants to hear stuff from your new album.
Ha, glad to see they now consider C-USA as a mid-major.
MAC with a ton of representation among the voting coaches with 4 of the 31. Also App State’s coach has a vote and I’d expect Miami is in his top 25.
UMPFN (Unnamed Major Program From the Northwest) is how I always think of them when this comes up
Now both Sack and Chuck have doubled up
Simply because a team is from a conference doesn’t mean a team is a mid major.
Pepperdine probably = mid major.
Gonzaga has not for years.
Is Eastern/Western Michigan comparable to Miami in basketball? Not really.
Definitions are fluid.
And this is obviously directed at know-it-all (likely non-athletic) Jive. Good information at times, but be a bit more respectful.
Yeah! Drag him!
So by that logic, could a team from a larger conference (e.g., DePaul) be considered a mid-major?
I think it’s past time for Mollaut (or his padawan, Guardhawk) to break out the college basketball conference hierarchy document.
Yes by all means! Break out the stats, Moll!
Be more respectful?
Jive manages and pays for this site out of his own pocket.
