Miami is 10-10 ( 4-4). Kent is 10-10 (3-5). Kent is only 5-5 at home where they have usually been dominant. This is Rob Senderoff’s 13th season as head coach and he has had eight 20 win seasons and 6 postseason teams and has won over 60% of his games. While Miami used to dominate Kent, the Flashes have won 6 straight vs Miami. All time we lead 92-52. They have 2 guys averaging 15.5ppg in MAC play. 5-10 JR Jalen Sullinger and 6-5 RS- JR Von Cameron Davis .6-9JR Cli’Ron Hornbeck has been out with injury for awhile which has hurt them. Others who play a lot include 6-1 RS SR Giovanni Santiago, 6-7 GS Chris Payton, 6-3 soph transfer from CMU Reggie Bass, and 6-5 GS Tyem Freeman, a good 3 point shooter.
This is a big stretch for us. For years the dominant MAC programs have been Akron, Kent, Toledo, and Ohio. We are playing 3 of those teams in a row, but we are much stronger now with Ipsaro and Morris back and looking good. Time to make a statement.
22-11 Miami with 11 minutes to go. Bradley Dean is in and just threw a beautiful pass on a fastbreak. Kent has hit 3 threes, otherwise missing and turning it over. Very fast pace.
31 to 16 at the 8 and under TO. Bultman 4 for 4 from the floor. This is the type of pace and game that a team could get down 25 and come back and win, which we did against Kent in Oxford several years ago. So far Kent’s ballhandling has been shaky.
