This thread was a pretty entertaining follow the last half of the season…hopefully the new coach has better burners!
I’d like to say this is the end of this thread. Writing was definitely on the wall for Bergeron once those accounts disappeared
They might come back to roast the new head coach
In a season full of turmoil we had a great side plot to follow. At least we got some laughs along the way
Might have to bring this thread back… noticed some stuff

An account with no posts no profile picture 1 follower 10 following (4 of which include NCHC, Miami hockey, Miami university, CCHA) responding to me on the Instagram final score post last night. Also has a Twitter account with similar activity
They were tearing into Simanovics last night on twitter

The account did seem to attack Bergeron in the past so I don’t think it’s related to the others, but still strange nonetheless
Can’t seem to figure out that pesky ‘to, too or two’ concept we all learned in second grade. That rules out anyone associated with Miami.
Yikes, I never check IG but maybe I should start.
I do see one former coach’s relative posted without trying to shield identity…
Daddy ain’t exactly lighting the hockey world on fire these days either.
People really shouldn’t be posting about their dad when their dad is/was the coach.
I feel like I’m missing some good gossip here, can anyone provide any clues where to find these juicy posts
You can check further up on this thread (Twitter X).
Yeah, that sucks but…
- Scholarships are for one year and are renewable each year, meaning you’re not guaranteed to be on scholarship for all four (or five) years. This happens everywhere, not just at Miami and not just with hockey. It’s unfortunate but it happens.
- High-producing? In the classroom? Sure. In the community? Sure. I could buy the argument in each of those two categories… but not on the ice. You can’t argue that after a season in which the team went 0-23-1 in conference play. I can appreciate effort but you still need to win. Ryan Jones provided top production, Andy Miele provided top production, Austin Czarnik, Riley Barber, Blake Coleman, Cody Reichard, Connor Knapp, etc. provided top production. Those guys won conference titles, played in Frozen Four games, earned All-American honors, won the Hobey, etc. THAT is what should be happening at Miami. That is what should be considered “high-producing.”
End of rant.
The scholarship for one year at a time issue is one reason why elite private schools like Colgate and the eight Ivies get top notch talent with high academic potential. Their aid packages are based on financial need. If you’re cut from a team you don’t lose your financial aid package.
College athletes wanted treated like professionals. Now they’re facing the repercussions. It’s fine to want to get paid, but now you have to live with what comes with it. I’d feel worse in a pre-NIL/transfer portal world.
