It’s a good comp…but he’s going to be bigger and more power if I had to guess.
Shumate is 6-7 205-210 pounds and has a little more outside than inside compared to Kotecki’s projection, IMO. I think he really is another Logan McLane type…if even better, great - maybe better outside shooter projection. But Logan was pretty good…6-9, 225 53% shooter, 11ppg/6rbs type.
46-41 Miami with 11 minutes to go. Both teams struggling offensively. Morris now has 4 fouls. Mabry has been having trouble staying with Maddux. They have done a really good job on Safford, every shot for him has been really difficult.
6 and a half minutes to go, we are up 9. Morris has fouled out and Mirambeaux looks like he can not run down the court even once. Jackson Kenyon looks like he is going to get some big minutes, like he did when we beat Western in Oxford. Lairy just turned it over once and then almost twice but we got a quick TO.
We play one possession and get the 8 and under TO. It was an important possession though as Lamar Norman picked up his 4th foul and Lairy gets a 1 and 1. A little over 6 minutes to go.
That was a great 3 or 4 minutes for us and Andy got back to back TO’s to rest and our zone has reduced them to long shots and they are missing. Up 65-51 with under 4 minutes to go. Kenyon got a point.
Morris needs to be more aware of his foul situation, especially when the big fella is trying to catch his breath. But AM does a good job conserving energy when he can and a nice job by Steele getting him an extended rest before the last media TO.
10 days ago this team was down 20 points in Dekalb with 10 minutes left and on the verge of going 2-12 in the MAC. Incredible what they’ve done since then.
