Well?…….We’re waiting?!?!?!
Seriously, how’d it go yesterday?

Not very good!
My low for that course was a 98 last month. This time, I limped in with a 111. Weather didn’t help but I simply am awful on shots in the 40-90 yard range. Most putts were short, creating too many three-putt holes.
We started at 1 pm and were done around 5 pm. Combination of win and sun going down made it a bit brutal!
It’s only my second year, so I did meet my yearly goal of breaking 100. Next year, we’ll play on mostly tougher courses, so that will certainly limit how much my scores come down.
That’s Coach Sherm?
From another thread?
I’d have waited till today, it seemed more manageable. I was clearing leaves off the lawns today, though. Got that all done and just waiting until the city comes thru to get them.
In the photo you have above in the thread
The one from June 20th, next to the balls, right?
It was much nicer today but I had other things scheduled.
I think that is him! That was a picture from an Old-Timers game or Spring game (around 78-80) and he was on the sideline. Weeb, Bo, and many others were also there.
Fantastic Eddie!
Played 18 at Community Hills Course (Kettering). 49 and 52 for 101. Earlier in the month, I had a 97, which is my all-time low.
Observations:
Keeping arms straighter has kept drives a bit straighter, but occasionally, balls goes well left.
Only iron I use is 50 degree wedge (for all chipping). Getting decent with it.
Originally, I had TaylorMade 4,5,and 6 hybrids. I added a 3 hybrid this year with so-so results. Apparently, (I believe) the shaft is longer than the 4,5, and 6. Thus, today, I moved a little closer to the ball, and suddenly the results improved. I ordered a 7 hybrid which should be coming shortly.
Putting still inconsistent. Why can’t I read greens very well? My eyes are fine.
Finally, I really like the distance watch (below). It was not terribly expensive (about $90 on sale at Golf Galaxy last year). Very accurate.
Love the improvement. I try to play when I can but outside of the summer it’s not very much. Got down close to breaking 80 twice this summer but choked down the stretch. If I have any advice it would be don’t fall victim to all of the gadgets/club switching that goes on. If your swing is good the results will show. I like to use videos of my swing to learn. Look up the concept of the swing plane and couple that with how your club face looks at impact and you should be able to self diagnose most missed shots in real time. As for putting I love the swinging gate drill and there’s a couple others I use for lags as well
The challenge Eddie has is that the entire round his phone is blowing up with stock tips and updates. He also won’t play the doggone ProV’s like I told him to. These two forces conspire to add 5-7 strokes a round.
I play in the 70’s…
Any warmer and I stay home
I did try the ProVs and I think I lost some distance. Once, if ever, I get swing speed up, I’ll try them again!
You gotta get your son to verify the losing distance as he’d know better than me. Personally, I think that is the best line of balls out there. Of course, they are like $1.50 a ball so if you are prone to losing balls, it can add up.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure you need a swing speed of 90+ for the ProV1 to perform as it’s designed.
As long as you can it straight and about 230 off the tee you’ll be fine most places
Frustrated! Upset! Dammit!
Yesterday, we had a tee time for 10:00. At 8:30, the weather forecast was rain throughout the morning. Close to 100%. Naturally, we cancelled the tee time.
And of course…It did not rain until later in the afternoon. A few drops, but nothing significant.
Reminded me EXACTLY of this:
But doesn’t everything remind you of Larry David or Seinfeld?
