Chase For The New Year's 6

Memphis, Ohio, Wyoming, Marshall, and Georgia Southern all take Ls this week. We’re down to just 9 G5 teams with one or fewer losses, and one of those teams is still officially bowl ineligible.

Yeah and we beat BG who beat GT who beat Miami. So we must be better than the Canes.

UC hasn’t won a game since they beat Pitt. They have no weapons, a weak defense, and Jones has been totally figured out.

Bad team. Long live Satterfield.

Great game - USAFA vs Wyoming!
This is why we need a 16 team playoff with all conference champs represented.
Get ur dun!

Well done comedy. This gentle reader approves.

Satterfield making every cent of his $3.75 million per year contract. We need to kick the crap out of UC next season in Oxford.

I am interested in this take.

I generally root for other MAC teams cause I do think it helps Miami but I dont think UC being good helps us

I think if they become an “Indiana” level Big 12 team that will be better for us than if they remain top 25 level for recruiting- future scheduling- etc

Why yes Alex, yes we are better than the Canes. Just ask Kevin Bacon!!

Next two weeks are huge for the program. After OU loss this week either Toledo or Miami could get some votes in the major polls. If we beat Toledo, we should be getting votes and that sets up a classic battle at OU.

Biggest “prove it” game I can remember since Big Ben throttling Louisville in the bowl game!

OU is going to be crazy town. We’re in town, both teams can probably win the East and Saturday is the Court Street Halloween Block Party. Sure hope we get a noon start while the Bobbies are still hungover! Get a win and get out of town early!

There’s a Miami with 1 vote, but it doesn’t specify which, so I assume it’s supposed to be Coral Gables.

Beat both Rockets and Kittens and we’ll start getting some votes.

Back to back Hurricanes losses and 2-4 UC will prevent us from getting any real consideration.

Yeah, our SOS isn’t great right now. Next two weeks will help some, but we need to win out and get some help.

Yeah it looks like it would take an awful lot of things to go our way for this to happen…if not sure hope we can get a good bowl slot and opponent.

We’re going to get one of the MAC Bowls. I don’t think we have a strong enough reputation for “traveling well” to be attractive to the bigger bowls that hand out at-large bids.

A neat scenario if we finish 12-1 with a MAC title is to match us up against James Madison somewhere warm like Boca. JMU will only go bowling if there aren’t enough 6-win teams available because they’re in transition, but would be a nice matchup.

Liberty with another escape job versus MTSU. They shouldn’t be a threat to anyone’s chances at a NY6 bowl, but it will be nice when someone finally picks them off.
