Well done boyzâŚi had it @ 24-23âŚgiven OT, pretty close.
Would have loved to seal it prior to last FG, but OT was clutch, despite giving UC a chance.
If gonna finally get it back, do it in style OL played well in pass protect?
Best team in the world. Love my guys. What a win.
Remember the last time we beat UC in football? Pepperidge Farms remembers! (And now, so do the young fâs.) what a day!
Iâm sure 6th grade me wouldâve been very indifferent about my future alma mater. Itâs been a long time.
I think Bluesman take on Wilkins was a freezing cold one. Although I kinda shared it
Iâve been on the fence with Chuck⌠But, Golly get that man an ice cream cone! whatever flavor he wants!!!
So proud of my team tonight - so happy for all the Miami alumni who have waited so long to see this - donât think I will sleep tonight - just so pumped and proud - go RedHawks!!
And I think McKeeâs block will definitely be remembered - maybe not quite Ty King return level - but soooo huge!!
That was a very exciting victory
College field goals are hard in the clutch. I remember misses for us vs purdue and miss state. Great block by McKee
Chuck Martin was super fired up all game except after the fake punt. What a big play by them and a show of respect to us about how they felt the game was going
Loved the play calling in overtime. Playcalling seems better right? We are taking shots and not always running on 2nd and ten
Defense hung in there. Great goal line stands
Amazing victory
Game winning touchdown was scored on aâŚ.wait for itâŚ.(ducking)âŚfade pass
Today is my birthday and the win over UC was the best present ever! Congrats to a total team effort and to CM and his staff - much improved play calling but the most impressive part of the game for me besides the win was how CM was involved in the game - his emotion and involvement with the team on the sidelines was great- lets win out - we have the talent to do it and if CM and his staff keep improving the play calling and interaction with the team like tonight this could be a great season!
I think after the out-pouring of love CM will get for this win⌠he will finally understand how important it is to Miami.
Chuck was damn intense all night. I could tell he wanted this one as much as the rest of us. He always does, but his mannerisms were more obvious this year.
Been waiting so long! Was there at Miami during Big Ben years, but candidly, Miami should have won more of the âbigâ games since. Finally, fortune shines on the righteous. McKee is a baller, but so many stepped up. Still need to shore up D more and rely more heavily on pass.
Rock Lobster. #notsorrycliftonstate
What an effort. Tremendous fight and resiliency all night long. The team just kept responding whenever adversity confronted them. What a great day for everyone involved in the program. They should feel great that their hard work was rewarded. Letâs keep it going now!
As for tonight, I loved the deep ball to start, especially when you had to think that UC would try to take Gage out of the game, which they did the rest of the night. Great response by Wilkins after slowing his route in the 1st quarter that contributed to the early interception. Javon Tracy really showed out. Miles Marshall came through.
And their play was made possible by Gabbert and the offensive line. Gabbert in rhythm is tough to stop. He was fantastic. And the offensive line gave him time most of the night. Theyâve really taken some strides forward from Week 1 until now. If they keep progressing like this, weâll be tough to beat.
The other group thatâs made some strides is the secondary. What can you say about McKee and his play the last couple of weeks. The emergence of Strader on the other side at corner is heartening.
The front 7 just kept coming. Iâll have to go back and see how many plays UC ran inside our 10, even our 5 yard line and look at our success rate. We matched their physicality by the goal line, which ended up being the difference in the game.
And I feel happy for the coaches. I think the staff has been unfairly branded for ânot caringâ in non-conference games. Passion doesnât necessarily have to be shown visibly, it can burn within you. It was more visible tonight, maybe because the team felt it was there for the taking tonight, and they had the right combination of emotion and focus. They had the team ready to go tonight, they made the right adjustments, they kept their composure, and they were rewarded with a big win. Good for them. Letâs keep preparing the right way, starting this week.
What a night. Love and Honor.
We deserve this.
Buy Chuck a beer. Someone. Anyone. Or a soda if he doesnât drink. All good. Same point. All the bashing is idiotic. Ps. Gage is a star. Like the best we have had. In a long while. Save for Mac who was also heaven sent.
Solid prediction
