Purdue isn’t great (19-21) but a win on the road vs a B1G is always a good thing. Way too many ERA above 7 for us. We look improved because we have been playing most of our games the past month in a pretty awful MAC.
6-3 loss at CMU today. Single games up there tomorrow and Sunday.
Sunday update: Miami tied at CMU 2-2 going to the top of 13. CMU had the winning run at 3rd with one out in the bottom of 12. TV broadcast seems to be behind a paywall.
Lost it at Mount Pleasant 3-2 in the bottom of 16. Chips with a single to lead off followed by an RBI double to walk off as winners.
Next up is a 500 mile round trip bus ride to Evansville for a single Wednesday afternoon game with the OVC’s Southern Indiana Patriots.

If I remember correctly, football is the only sport that is totally scheduled by the AD-the head coach sets up the baseball schedule

Seems like an odd game to schedule midweek. Going to Purdue midweek might have made sense but I’m not sure a trip to Evansville does. Did we owe somebody down there something?
This game was the PTBNL in the transaction where we got Carl Richburg.
Took two of three from Akron at home this weekend but gave up 12 runs in a win Friday and 10 in a loss today. That’s the 17th time in 50 outings the pitching staff and defense has given up double digit runs - 34% of our games. We won’t win many championships doing that.

Lost 2 of 3 at Ball State over the weekend. Cardinals announcers said the Saturday loss mathematically eliminated us from MAC playoff contention. Currently 19-34 on the season and heading to McNeese State for three games to close out another dismal season - Wednesday through Friday.
Of sixteen pitchers on our roster, only two have ERAs under four. Our team ERA is 6.66. Pitching wins championships. Lots of room for improvement.
