Well seeing that it’s this guys final year of eligibility, I can guarantee that
Yeah, that makes sense.

Mercer DE, this one would be big
TTU needs to start paying us transfer fees
We will even take them via royalties from some West Texas oil wells!
If Chuck is so bad as a coach, how come everyone wants our guys? Me, I think he does a good job developing talent.
You miss the very important point - yes he knows how to recruit and has developed some good talent ( I wish he would coach the O line ) BUT he is not a game day coach esp re O play calling - if would hire a strong OC the program would benefit greatly.
Washington’s QB is transferring to LSU, 4 days after signing a multi million dollar deal and announcing he’d be returning to Washington. Things like that make it pretty hard to care about the sport, and I can’t see how this doesn’t seriously hurt interest long term.
Totally no tampering involved
I think he’s very good at identifying talent and very good at developing it (excepting QB development). He is truly a coach who’s great at “teaching the game.”
His problem is the actual contests. His in-game coaching decisions are just…I guess “head-scratchers from hell” is the best way to think of it.
Gabbert and Ragland were pretty good. Aveon and Mayer were decent backups. Gotkowski could be good. Idk where this “can’t develop a QB” narrative came from
Gabbert and Ragland came in good. I’m not sure they developed much to my untrained eye. (But I credited his ability to identify all talent, it’s only QB development I question.) Aveon succeeded because Chuck, to his credit, changed the offensive game plan to eliminate stuff Aveon couldn’t do.
Trick to TT should be no surprise. Miami has become their farm system.
Glad to see we have landed one. But we have a lot of work to do. So let’s keep grinding!
This is why I no longer watch NBA. College sports is 10x worse now.
-
Transfer Portal Advisor
- This is someone who has connections to schools looking for athletes wanting a change of scenery. They work with athletes and ‘shop them around’ to various programs, while taking a fee. (Either upfront or a percentage of a player’s revenue share agreement.)
- For the most part, these people are, for lack of a better term, trying to take advantage of young athletes financially while not having their best interest in mind. There are also instances where these advisors will demand a percent of an athlete’s money while doing no work or negotiations for them.
- On the flipside, these advisors are hyper-focused on one aspect of a sport and generally have reliable contacts within said area.
-
NIL Agent
- This is someone who works with athletes on multiple facets of their student-athlete journey, including (but not limited to) personal branding, social media, contract negotiations, and sourcing deals.
- NIL Agents, for the most part, care about the student-athlete holistically and not just related to their own financial gain. These folks work hard on behalf of athletes, and they really want to see them succeed and become better in their sport and beyond.
- In turn, NIL Agents generally have numerous connections across many industries, but sometimes lack expertise in one specific area or sport to help athletes with specialized needs.
Which one is better?
It really depends on the needs of the athlete.
If an athlete solely wants to get paid and will choose a school based on the highest bidder, working with a Transfer Portal Advisor might be a better choice. (Though athletes should be cognizant of the work these people will do for them, as well as the percentage of their money they will take.)
If an athlete wants to build their brand while in school and prepare themselves for their next stage of life (sports or not), an NIL Agent is the way to go.
It’s so crazy that the QB from Harvard is in the portal. Assuming he hasn’t graduated, whoever is advising that young man that giving up a Harvard degree is in his best long term interest is a complete fraud.
Every player from Harvard in the transfer portal is redshirt junior (including the QB) or a senior.
They will all undoubtedly graduate with a Harvard degree.
Those boys are not stupid.
