I’m cautiously optimistic those relationships are thawing though, and I’m fine with playing them both four times every year in that scenario. I think that would be great for all of the schools, especially as much as people talk about Miami not having rivals since the CCHA dissolved.

There has been a thread on the MAC board promoting a MAC championship tournament one weekend a year between Western, BG, Miami , and UMass. The idea was WM and Miami not be matched up the first night. Winners play for championship on Saturday night after the losers game. It would be a 4 year contract with each team hosting once.

I was going to roast coach’s baseball team for this but then I did the math and we’ve only won 8 of our last 50 games which isn’t much better😂
I think “wishful thinking” is apt. The bug up OSU’s ass doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon, and BG will do whatever OSU wants in order to keep their series with them. Perhaps, political pressure could change things?
I thought BGSU not scheduling us was a personal conflict with the coaching staffs. So that might change with both teams having turnover. I don’t think OSU would pressure them not to play us.

Historically UMass and WM are at their all time peak right now. Both Miami and BG have in the past had eras where we were national powers but are down now. Hopefully this coaching change will get us going in the right direction.

I personally don’t hate it, I’m busy Friday nights with HS football and I’m glad I get to watch coach’s first game live!

Have the rules been updated? I thought the season didn’t officially begin until the first Saturday in October, to play a two game series it had to be Saturday/Sunday.
No teams played on Friday October 6 last year but there are four games on Friday this year.

First day of competition was moved up, I was told. Hadn’t seen that either, then I checked Ay Ziggy and they were complaining about their series moving from Sat/Sun to Fri/Sat. USCHO hasn’t even updated that yet.
