SEC is REALLY going to have to cheat in 2025. Now if Texas can just lose and then a giant sinkhole wins the finale, all will be well in the universe.
Well said. I hate the new world for a lot of reasons, but it might just backfire on the biggies who voted it in.
Duke looks like the brought about 500 fans to this one but playing Thursday Jan 2nd is a weird time
Lane’s going to run this score up so big.
I prefer an OSU PSU final w the entire crowd chanting SEC, SEC !
That day may be here real soon.
But it’s different in that these are elimination games and 1 team had the advantage of playing in an elimination game. This happens frequently in the basketball tournament with a team starting in Dayton pulling an upset or 2 once they get in the main draw because they are accustomed to that higher intensity level.
Agree it’s a weird time. But Duke is not really a North Carolina university team. It is a national university team located in North Carolina. Most its students and alumni live elsewhere.
It’s supposed to be about 36 degrees with a 15 mph wind in Charlotte when tonight’s Duke Mayo Bowl ends. The winning coach gets a ceremonial mayonnaise bath. Yuk!
If I’m a head coach I might consider quietly throwing a close game.
Former Kent State/UCLA QB Collin Schlee starting for VA Tech in Dukes Mayo Bowl.
WAtching the Duke Mayo Bowl on a pretty frigid night in Charlotte. Crowd looks a little thin…be shocked if they are that close to the 40K we had at the Arizona Bowl.
Minnesota has something like 7 players out for this game, but they are playing well. Their QB has made a number of good throws.
Well that post didn’t age well as Minnesota QB throws a really bad interception to give V-Tech a chance to get back in the game quickly.
P.S. announced attendance was 31,027. Usually V Tech fans show up in big numbers for a bowl but they had a disappointing 6-6 record this year.
Who wore it better - Chuck with the Death Row

Bahamas Bowl: The Last Bowl MACtion
Texas Tech had quite a shopping expedition in the MAC this bowl season…Buffalo’s All MAC Kicker is transferring to Lubbock after today’s bowl game. (Of course he’s laying kn the Bahamas Bowl. Wouldn’t you?)
He just hit a 51 yard FG in a 25 mph wind to give the Bulls as early 3 point lead.
Big time cheap shot by Liberty DB appears to knock Buffalo receiver out of the game. Looked like it might have been a fairly serious ortho injury but he was able to walk off after three or four minutes.
That’s not WJWD.
Jesus won… but not enough to qualify for something higher on the pecking order than the Bahamas Bowl.
