MAC East preview
ESPN+ is awful. Had it for a bit. Not worth $1 let alone $9.95 a month.
They also make it difficult to drop it…
I love it. Works great for me on my iPhone and on my Smart TV.
Interesting. He uses the term mediocre twice and retrograde once - in referring to the team expected to finish first.
Never had any issues with buffering, quality, or availability. Works on my TV, computer, and phone.
And that article is why I’m struggling to get excited about football at all this year. We keep wasting good defenses with offenses that are worse than mediocre. If we had a mediocre offense the last two years, we win the conference. Instead we had bad offenses. Each bowl game, I’ve had some interaction with players from the other team. This year I was playing blackjack with @yanksalex and a couple linebackers for UAB. They didn’t hold back about how they saw talent on film, but they said they can’t figure out what our offense is trying to do. Maybe Koehler thought if he didn’t know what was going on, the other team wouldn’t either.
I love it, especially this time of year flipping between the early rounds of the small and mid-major conference tournaments. Being able to go back and replay games is great as well. The tennis majors and PGA tour events are pluses as well, especially the early coverage of the PGA Championship when Van Pelt and Duval have it.
SC transfer RB looking like he can help
Moves well for a big rb (assuming he’s still in the 220-227 range).
Who’s this back, again?
Rashad Amos…I suppose…6-1/2, 225-230, we have not had that in awhile, long while or maybe never?
Maybe never in your time, but we had plenty in the past.
Travice Prentice was about 220 and he was a fantastic RB for us.
Of course…Prentice is the biggest, certainly effective (obviously outstanding) back…but about 5-10/11…and 20+ years fits the bill of “awhile”…only one that comes to mind in my time.
Who is taking snaps as no 2 QB in Spring practices? Move Aveon to to a RB position?
Here’s a list for discussion. The first ones I remember are Joe Kozar and Al Moore. Lots of strangeness mixed into this list - odd photos and some guys who didn’t play for Miami - but it does provide a pretty comprehensive list of guys who have played the position for the Redskins and RedHawks.
“So you’re telling me there’s a chance.”
SCOTT SATTERFIELD – CINCINNATI
First five opponents: FCS Eastern Kentucky, at Pitt, Miami Ohio, Oklahoma, at BYU
The former head man at App State (51-24 from 2014-18) and Louisville (25-24 from 2019-22), Scott Satterfield will need to hit the ground running to convince Cincinnati fans that he’s the right guy. Where other coaches listed will have the grace period associated with taking over a struggling program, Satterfield’s got the keys to a machine that’s posted a 53-11 mark since 2018.
While the Bearcats ought to win their opener, the road trip to Pitt is tricky. Though the Panthers aren’t as obvious a threat as say, Penn State, they’re 20-7 over the last two seasons, a couple of notches better than the Nittany Lions’ 18-8 mark. After a brief pause vs. Miami Ohio (a rival which the Cats have beaten 16 straight times) it’s a home date vs. Oklahoma – a program that despite last year’s product is as athletic as virtually any team in the nation – and a visit to BYU.
It adds up to a September that could plausibly end with a 3-2, or 2-3 mark. After that the rest of the Big 12 waits.
Joe Kozar and Scott Tyler’s photos are a couple that are turned about. Joe was a great guy and a good blocker but probably not a top 25 runner. Scottie was fast.
Personally, I would have Travis Prentice as #1 on this list. I think people forget how unstoppable he was. And held the NCAA record for rushing TDs for several years. George Swarn was a great back. RB at Miami when I was there. Had big Dan Daryrample blocking for him.
Rob Carpenter turned out OK, too. Had his way with SEC and Big 10 defenses back in the golden era.
