Women’s Hockey 2025-26 Season Thread

Their roster is 90% Canadian, mostly Western Canada. I’m guessing they heavily subsidize their tuition.

#8 Miami has a home and home with #15 Indiana Tech this weekend, with the Friday game in Fort Wayne at 4:30 pm, and the Saturday game at Goggin at 6:15 pm.

Interestingly, Fort Wayne is built on the site of Kekionga, which was a large village and considered the capital of the Miami people at the time of their encounter with white settlers. The Maumee River (formally known as the Miami) is formed there at the confluence of the Saint Mary’s and Saint Joseph Rivers, and Miami Chief Little Turtle was originally buried near the confluence. A statue honoring Little Turtle stands in Headwaters Park.

What does this mean? It means Indiana Tech has a lot of gall to call this a “home” game when they play Miami on Friday in Kekionga.

Link for this afternoon’s game. It looks like they have a little bit of a video crew on hand, and a PBP guy, so a semi-decent broadcast is possible.
