Rookie Profiles
One of our fall traditions is a brief profiling of our new players. This year we have what is believed to be our largest and most geographically diverse incoming class ever with six states, New Jersey, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania, and one province, British Columbia, represented. We ask the new players to tell us something interesting about themselves. As you will see, the answers usually go in many directions. So let’s meet the rookies:
# 2 Emily Gier, forward, left shot, . Emily is a Business major from Stow, Ohio. Her parents are Chrissy and Roy Gier and she has one brother, Christian. Emily previously played for the Stow, Ohio Bulldogs Boys High School team. When asked for something interesting about her, Emily reported she has torn both of her ACLs and her meniscus. Let’s hope those injury days are over for Emily. For Miami, #2, Emily Gier.
#19 Liv Lescarbeau, forward, left shot. Liv is a Kinesiology major from Kelowna, British Columbia. Liv’s parents are Yannick and Jackie Lescarbeau and she has a sister, Sabrina, and a brother, Samuel. Liv previously played for Rothesay Netherwood School (JWHL). Liv may have the new Miami record for something(s) interesting about her with these three: Liv is fluent in French, her grandma rescues monkeys, and she can whistle with her fingers. For Miami, #19 Liv Lescarbeau.
#20 Natalie Dolan, defense, left shot. Natalie is a Biology major with a pre med co-major from Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. I, for one, will be following that McMahon kid out of Toledo, if only because she grew up in my house.
JohnnyMac - I noticed that there is a home game this Friday 9/19.
What time does it start - I might stop by.

I have only met her twice, but she and her sisters were as polite young people as I have ever met.
I plan on being at the BLC activity at the Goggin at 5:30 on Saturday. Hope to run into another hockey parent with both a Hamilton and Miami hockey connection.
This Friday’s game has been moved up to 7:30 pm.

Miami sweeps the opening series of the year by winning today 4-1. First years Liv Lorelli and Ireland Murphy scored their first collegiate goals and Lauren Smith potted two more for a total of three on the weekend. Goalie Maya Gonzalez just missed her second consecutive shut-out when GVSU’s Peyton Wysocki scored mid-way through the third.
Yea us
Great start to the season!
Nice to finally meet you and your lovely wife on Saturday! I’ll be following Miami and Hamilton Women’s hockey closely this year.
Love and Honor & Go Continentals!
This past weekend I chatted with you, D-day, and JiveHawk: 3 titans of MHT.
And I met Jive, YanksAlex and Hawkbacker at Rutgers. Slow but surely we’re starting to recognized one another!
Miami lost game one of their three game road trip today 5-1 to McKendree University. Miami was out shot 48-13. Mandy Cronin had the Miami marker. Maya Gonzalez made a few highlight reel stops in the 3rd or it could’ve been worse.
Miami has two games at Lindenwood tomorrow and Sunday.
How did McKendree get so stacked? Not a school I’d peg as a hockey power - men’s or women’s.
