Where does Brett rank among all-time Miami QBs?

Terry Morris should be in this discussion. He played two years (JUCO transfer) and is in the HOF. 16-5-1 in those two years, one MAC championship and a play away from another.

Brett is way higher on my list than Zac. Winning matters to me.

Agree on Terry Morris. He helped bring Miami offense into the modern era. Great record, great stats. Below Ben but should rank higher than most.

Hard, hard disagree. Football is a team sport and coaching matters.

Thereā€™s a reason Dysert was drafted and spent a few years in the league. He was very good.

Zac on the same teams Brett ledā€¦not even close.

If Terry Morris was taller, probably an NFL guy. And if power conference wins matter, he was at the helm of the win over #8 LSU in 1986.

Well thatā€™s not how it works. And I like Zac. But he lost a lot and when his team did win, he was hurt.

Josh Betts was in the league for awhile. I donā€™t even remember one play from his senior season.

Shouldnā€™t he get a little bit of a dispensation for playing under the worst coach in the history of Miami football? Also, to be fair he was the starter for the first ten weeks on a team that won the MAC Championship.

My take on Betts is he was good not great. Obviously following a generational player is tough.

We made the MAC championship game the year after Ben left with him as the starter.

His senior year was perhaps one of the most disappointing seasons for me as a fan as long as Iā€™ve been watching Miami football. Loaded with talent. All the guys from the '03 team were juniors or seniors (Nance, Robinson, Nande, Busing, Hunter, etc) And we went 7-4.

It was his decision to play for the worst coach in the history of all football. Man, how quickly would he have been in the portal if that was a thing back then!

My Mt Rushmore of Miami QBs of the last 30 years is: Ben, Brett, Bath, Gus

Ok fineā€¦. Zac had better skills than Brett. Better passer, better runner. Better stats too with three out of four non competitive years.

Josh didnā€™t play for Treadwell

My wife pointed out that it took Brett 6 years to do what Ben did in 3ā€¦ā€¦he definitely needs his own tierā€¦.NFL HoF Level?

I only saw Zac play his senior year, but under Treadwell he probably had a bit of stat inflation because him and Harwell were basically keeping the offense from collapsing earlier than it did. With Chuck coaching and a competent line/running game he wins similar to Brett but puts up less numbers. Only hypotheticals though.

Point of clarification on Brett, he ended his career with 53 GP. With all the injuries and COVID mini season he basically had four full yearsā€™ worth of games played.

Thanks. I know that and did not say that.

Whatā€™s amusing is Iā€™m assuming Dysert was recruited by arguably the second worst coach in the history of the program, Shane Montgomery. Horrible luck with coaches. Haywood passed through his life like a comet.

Iā€™m old school. I like winning. Give me winners. Itā€™s why I love Aveon and always will. I donā€™t care if itā€™s pretty. Just give me the dub.

Now rip up the slant walk forever and put a big gaudy basketball arena there!

One guy that needs mentioning is Sam Ricketts. Led the Northwestern comeback/upset. QB when we beat VA Tech who was top ten. His 1997 season was really good, especially considering we were still a very run oriented team at the time.

And if you like winning 1995-97 were very fruitful years on that front.

So you think Treadwell was better than Shane?
