Well crap, just returned from taking my wife out for a birthday dinner (in Toledo). Really glad I didn’t renew my ESPN plus subscription. I have been to two new to me and very good NW Ohio eateries in the last week.
It was hard to watch in person, and it is still hard to watch at home. I don’t blame this gentleman at all.
I’m amazed that this program can lose 22 straight to Toledo. Wow, this is just not worth further comment.
Now is the time to go on a 32-0 run!
This isn’t even our worst loss to Toledo during the current streak. They beat us 93-49 in 2016.
EMU won at Akron.
Because of course EMU won at Akron.
Emu is an underachieving team. They actually have talent, well, Imo.
Well they didn’t score 100
So….we still haven’t beaten Toledo since 2011. We are on our 4th HC in that time I believe. Question: what is our worst loss at home against another MAC team as far as point differential? This has to be right up there if anyone knows.
This game gave me flashbacks of the Dayton game.
No. The final margin was similar, but we scored 23 points in that game.
Well, this was an unmitigated disaster. Kudos to Elmer for showing up at least.
Friday night sure as hell better look and feel a lot different. I think it will. Not the worst thing to get humbled and re-focus, though I kind of thought this group had been there, done that.
I think it’s fair to say we didn’t come to play and that’s about it. Mirambeaux missed a chippie to start. Hunter went for the degree of difficulty on a layup that wasn’t necessary. Bultman almost tripped over himself trying to catch a simple pass. It looked like we were still on the Central scouting report on defense, allowing Toledo to get to their spots in the mid-range. We were looking to play a game; Toledo was looking to win a MAC title. Toledo’s intensity and focus was at another level.
I’m confident the message will be sent for Friday. I don’t think anything else needs to be said.
Well said. The inexperience of this team seems to show up at the beginning of the games. If they miss a couple, there is panic. If their first shots go in, they get some confidence and settle in.
Ohio U and the Firecrackers. Is Sackman in line yet?
I was at that game. The halftime score was Dayton 23 - Miami 8. This game and that game were nothing like each other
If anything, this reminded me of the time back in the early 2000s when Kent State came to Oxford on a weeknight and Miami was up 43 -11 at the half
excellent move, that is like stealing 11 cents
It is one thing to lose at home. It happens. This wasn’t “humbling”. This was a complete and total emasculation. We should never lose at home to another MAC team by over 30 points. Never. This team does not play well against physical teams. Hasn’t all year. Unfortunately our only physical player from last year’s team is sitting in street clothes on Kent’s bench. We lack a certain toughness. I will refrain from saying the rest of what I want to say. Let’s just hope Friday night is a different story.
You, too? For awhile in the first half, I swear I saw this game before, but last time it was at Hara vs UD. What a nightmare. And yes. I was there. First game I ever left early. But, I had a long ride back to Detroit after that debacle.
After about the first hour I realized Miami hadn’t scored and the fans were still supposed to be standing until they did. Kudos to those who gutted it out!
