State of the program piece

I’m a Miami Football fan #1 and played for Miami. Never played hockey, but love and follow the sport. I’d be SOOOO disappointed in Miami if they waived the surrender flag and dropped out of the NCHC which is a major D1 conference - for the CCHA?? If WMU can do it, Miami sure the heck can do it. Fighting the battle of being in the G5, I don’t understand the logic of wanting to degrade Miami Hockey even in down times to the equivalent of being in D2-ish Hockey of the CCHA (I know there isn’t a D2 Hockey).

I’ll go further and say Burgess and Sayler are soft and quitters and shouldn’t be considered for further advancement in their fields if they advocate that. “I’d like a promotion, but not if it’s too tough!, my buddy WMU did it but I can’t”
Who would hire that attitude? Even if they have no confidence in themselves and think that, for them to portray that is weird in my opinion. They should just say “I’m not good enough as the Western Michigan Coach and AD” and leave it that. No need to air their embarrassing insecurities all over college hockey as it reflects on the rest of Miamians.

It’s unreal what we talk about on this board sometimes.

Other than the first year or two in the NCHC, Miami has shown its just not capable of competing at the level needed to win in the league. I don’t think Miami can successfully manage DI football, basketball and hockey. Unless they’re willing/able to properly fund the teams, I think its perfectly reasonable to make some tough choices.

To be clear: You mean Bergeron and Sayler? Autocorrect is a bitch.
