Alright!

Is it too early to say Noreen was the right hire? He drives me nutty sometimes but I feel like I can’t be mad at him for much because we are 10-4, ranked, and have a trophy in December of his second year here.

10-4 GOOD BUDDY!

No doubt he was the right hire. This is only year 2 and really year 1 with actual Noreen players. The fact we are ranked in a stepping stone year makes me very excited for the next couple of years

Let not get too much ahead of ourselves here. I’ve been saying it all year the rankings now don’t matter, at the end of the year they do. There is a lot of NCHC league meat grinder hockey to play out this year yet.

Just feels like we’re ahead of schedule here. Took less time than I thought to reverse some of the damage done in the Bergeron years. Not saying we’ll be competing for hardware in March and April but the team is surpassing expectations for this season and if this is what we’re getting now, just think of what this young crew can grow into over the next few years

Yesss be loud!!

:ice_hockey::ice_hockey::clap:t2::clap:t2::clap:t2::oncoming_fist: Will be loud.

Ahead of schedule is a really good way to put it.

Any naysayers, keep in mind: I get the been-burned-before perspective.

Really, I do.

And maybe this team will struggle mightily with the conference schedule.

But only two guys that dressed in this tournament played on the 2024-25 team: Nassen, who scored in the title game, and Quinn, who had two assists in it.

This is why the clean-house approach was needed, and we’re witnessing the dividends now.

Yeah love it or hate it cutting everyone was the right decision. Ppl spent years saying “just wait until we get all berges guys” whilst sinking further and further down the abyss. Love all the new guys and having a team to be excited about! We’re good!

I’ve said since before the season we will be greatly improved from last year and not finish last in the league. The nchc is the toughest conference in hockey. I predict 6th or 7th place in league. I’m excited but also know the toughest hockey is yet to come

I don’t want to suggest Berge could have turned it around (I very seriously doubt that was ever going to be possible), but in his partial defense, the rules at the time were such that cutting everyone after year one and rebuilding the roster from scratch was impossible.

Also he got unlucky with Covid happening right at the beginning of his tenure

Yeah it’s definitely a different environment now, I was just trying to say I’m glad Noreen took advantage of all the changes with the portal, chl, etc, and didn’t try to stick to slowly turning over the team. Some people were mad he did that
