Nice replay of Elmer’s dunk on ESPN.
Kid moves so well. This team is built correct.
Excellent detail. Well worth the read.
We only went 6-20 from deep (2-11 outside of Craft). Nice to see we’re able to grind out a win without our usually strong 3-point shooting.
This made me think about how he hasn’t really played in two years. Looks like he’s shaken the cobwebs off.

I like this team…they’re so much fun to watch. They play hard and execute well. Suder, Craft, and Woolfolk are absolutely dangerous. Great upgrades from Mabry, Morris, and Dean IMO.
Looking forward to conference play. Hopefully the fans come out and support. Wishful thinking I admit.
Does Kam have 3 years of eligibility left
? (Including this year). If so, and we could keep him, just wow what a player he could continue to develop into.
Miami has had six different players lead the team in scoring over 14 games so far this season.
Suder - 4.5
Craft - 4.5
Elmer - 2
Skaljac - 1
Potter - 1
Luers - 1
Suder and Craft tied for top scorer with 18 pts a piece vs. Siena, hence 4.5. Luers’ 20 pts against Defiance can probably be thrown out of the analysis here, but it’s nice to have several scoring options. Not sure how this compares to past seasons… I’m too lazy to look it up.
Not that it means much other than the real progress of the program, but Miami is 144 in the NCAA NET Ranking this morning. I have to believe its been a loooooooong time since we touched top 150.
With a new arena and fan support we can become a perennial top 75 program. And if you look at how many teams play hoops…350? that might as well make us the equivalent of top 50. All of those 75 schools are very good. Plus, in the Midwest, there’s a void where mid major killers used to be. Darn near all of them have moved up to a higher level. We can fill that void. It’s a great place to be.
FWIW, there has been an incremental increase at each game, and if there are actually students on campus, there could be a decent crowd. Plus women’s game.
Aren’t there jump ropers on trampolines or something Saturday?
Pretty sure that all of the King’s Firecrackers are in federal prison.
On what charge?
The NET rankings are what, 6 or 7 years old? I’m wondering if we ever have.
Not having a unicycle in their act.
I knew that was a criminal offense in a handful of southern states, but didn’t realize it was also Federal law.
We finished 2019 as KenPom #148 and 2021 at #157
Refresh my memory: Did Steele sign a 5 year contract? That is my recollection. With his wife’s strong ties to Cincinnati, I wonder if there is a chance that we would be able to get him to stay in Oxford on a long term basis. Realize the extension would have to include a major pay raise. But it sure would be great to still have him at the helm when the new arena opens.
He may still having a burning desire to move back into a power program again someday, but maybe he would consider the “Chuck Martin approach” and have a secure job near a city that they love.
Steele seems very invested in Miami basketball, constantly talking about bringing the glory days back and getting students invested in the team again. To me this seems like he’d like to be here for a while but you never know
Travis Steele is 43 compared to Chuck Martin’s 57. Totally different life stages. I’d fully expect Travis to jump at the opportunity to coach a Dayton, UC, X, Butler, or better type school.
If we are in the situation where that is actually a possibility, that means we’ve achieved such success that I’ll help pack his moving truck personally and treat him to a bagel of his choice from Bagel&Deli on the way out of town.
