Prediction Sunday- Ball State, Tuesday 7pm

Sparks 4-10 from the line. He’d be unstoppable if he could shoot free throws.

He’s playing.

Just dribble full speed into someone and you’ll get a call for flailing your arms

Solid road win against a competent team.

Compliments to Ball State coaches (styling and profiling’)

This is not news, but Sparks is a beast.

Yep.
Good MAC win on the road against a solid team.

Plus Side- Good Offensive ball movement, good mix of threes and back doors, solid team defense, Craft

Minus Side- Lousy defensive rebounding, way too many fouls, don’t get to the line enough

Sparks missing free throws really helped but that is a great win

I stepped foot on campus in Fall 2004 and saw Miami hoops win their first two games against Purdue and Xavier that year and start 10-5. 20 years later, I’ve never seen a Miami team win 10 games in their first 14…until tonight.

We almost had 5 guys in double points. And we have at least 4 guys who could put up 25 a game. That’s a dangerous team.

Weird game. The max margin in each direction was Miami +8, Ball St +3, but there were no lead changes in the final 25 minutes. Neither team was ever able to make a run.

Solid execution down the stretch. Let’s keep the W’s rolling.

I’m too lazy to look. When’s the last time we started 2-0 in the MAC?

I cant believe Ball state is 255 in the net but that is they type of win conference champs get. Sorry I will miss the field of 68 call tomorrow

It feels nice to have 10 wins before mid-January.

Travis practically giddy in his postgame interview. Says the bench energy of this team is the best he’s had in twenty years of coaching.

Talked about how their ability to shoot is opening up the back cuts, evidenced by 20 assists. Third straight game with 20+assists.

He was impressed by how team had an answer for Ball State runs. Loves Luke, says he’s going to be “a dude”. Didn’t know who or where we play Saturday. That’s a focused coach.

Big win.

The athletic department should hype up the “best start since 2005” stuff to try getting some butts in the seats once students return. Part of that is skewed by the OOC schedules during the late Coles regime but still it’s worth promoting.

What is this “promoting” you speak of?

Their announcers touched on it, but they’ve been a different team since switching up their starting lineup. The computers are struggling to balance that, but the computer ranking above showed them as being #5 nationally for team momentum. It’s a really good win on the road. Nice to win these “toss up” games.

We beat a very scrappy team on their home floor tonight. I thought Hill would be a tough guard and he was. I don’t remember Sparks being that big, but we had no answer for him, except to foul him, which was the only thing that stopped him tonight. I thought we guarded them well, they didn’t shoot a good percentage, but got killed on the glass.

I thought we made great adjustments throughout the game. Picking up full court got everyone else into the game, outside of Craft who was just a killer tonight. After he made that first one, I thought, that was so hard of a shot, this could be the start of something, and it was. But the press got us some better flow. Going back door, we put Pearson among others in the blender with those back cuts. Then getting down hill using that high screen was another great play to go to.

Good for Cooper to hit those free throws. He was the target and he stepped up and finished the game. Potter turned his night around when he started dishing on those back doors, what a luxury to have him. We’ve played very well the last 2 games, even better tonight than on Saturday. Let’s keep it going.

I will say I lost track of what was a foul and what was traveling. But we didn’t get rattled by the inconsistent officiating.
