He basically said it was all related to the Net and kenPom - out of conference strength of schedule- but still it doesnt make sense to me- most of their strength of schedule was losing to Auburn-Alabama

As I said above, the NIT is not a deliberative process. I would doubt the âselection committeeâ really even meets following the NCAA selections. They probably exchange some emails in advance to identify teams they are interested in (and Iâm talking P4 schools) and then once they confirm who didnât get into the NCAA, they reach out to the P4 schools to see who has interest.
Once they get all the name schools they can get, they just go down the list of NET/KenPom and start calling the smaller schools. I doubt they even looked at the MAC standings to see Kent State was 3rd or that they went 0-3 against Miami. It would really surprise me if they even discussed whether they should select Kent State or Miami or knew anything about the MAC season.

Iâm sure he was delighted to rubber stamp Kent State over Miami.
I know the flat bellyâs on here are desperate for a post season game, but in reality we donât want anything but the Big Dance. I might accept the NIT if the players really wanted it, otherwise I would decline. The others I would not even consider. Our history is strong even our recent history has not been great, now is the time to move forward.

Kent state winning the NIT would only further our claim to being in it
Defense travels, and thatâs Kent Stateâs forte.
That said, Miami and Akron play a style that negates their defensive prowess w/the 3-ball. It could show again vs. a good 3-pt shooting team.
A 20-pt win w/a 20-rebound advantage on the road against an A-10 team speaks for itself, even as most would agree Miami could have done the same, just offensively.

Real confused why Senderoff and KSU fans seem so aggro? Sayler and Chucks point was never that Kent was bad or didnât deserve it. The whole point was if Kent was deserving, how come Miami who finished well above them in the standings and went 3-0 against them was not.
Theyâre affiliated with Kent. No one said theyâre smart.
I am not sure Coach Sendy is Rob Senderoffs account. I think it might be the teams account. I think we definitely called out Kent and I think we were right too. Them beating St Bonaventure doesnt prove that we didnt belong over them
