He is the guy I would go after. Lots of ups and downs this year to be attractive to a big team, but he would be a terrific MAC player.
Not trying to sound like a jerk, but what is the point? I think it may be to get some NIL money, maybe? After 4 years playing college ball, and wanting to play for another 2 years and knowing you have very little chance of making an NFL roster, just not seeing any other reason…

AS has the IQ to play NFL ball. He could go the Julian Edelman route if he wanted…

Maybe coaching (or other football related career) is a long term goal, and 2 more years + a new program will add experience and networking opportunities to help achieve that goal.
Or, some guys just love to compete and are not ready to end their young career just yet.

Yeah, I dunno. Not saying the guy is not a quality player, but I don’t see an NFL career in the cards for him. But what do I know? Hopefully he can prove me wrong (if that’s what he wants to do)!

I am pretty sure can only transfer out of an Academy, but not in.
Based on Dick’s comments above that he heard that Aveon was going to transfer a month ago from sources tied to AV’s high school coach your insight is probably right on.
It could be that some programs closer to home reached out to AV and suggested there is a spot for him if he wants to transfer. If that is the case, his value only got higher in the last five weeks.

Granted, this could (and likely will) change but as of now, Miami and BG are the only MAC schools to only have a single player enter the portal.

If AV does not play in the Bowl game ( for whatever reason) who is the next QB up?
3 guys for App State. A receiver, an edge rusher, and a corner.
It doesn’t look as if they are significant contributors.
