I know better than to think an upset might happen today, but we’re in a year when Miami had an undefeated basketball season and Indiana won a football natty. Crazier things have happened, let’s go out and actually compete today.

This was… remarkably simple, even by trying to play using the Chuck Martin philosophy of playing it close to the (sweater) vest.
Pitt played DBs back early on, allowing for screens as quick passes. Miami kicked a field goal on the opening drive. Pitt answered on its first possssion and then Pitt kind of gave up its running game after that. It was strange. Rodney Nelson provided the play of the game on the second possession, when he went untouched 70 yards for a touchdown to put Miami up 10-3. The D kept getting stops and Miami added two more field goals to go up 16-3, including a 58-yarder right at the end d of the half after Pitt totally botched trying to run out the last 30 seconds.
Pitt did score on a 71-yard pass due to a blown assignment in the secondary but Narduzzi oddly didn’t go for two to cut it to one possession and the Panthers never manage to get closer than 19-10. After stopping a desperate Pitt team on downs deep it Panthers’ territory, D’Shawntae Jones provided the final scoring play. Miami ended up getting two end zone interceptions (Amariyun Knighten and Kaleb Martin) in the closing minutes.
Nelson’s 118 yards and the TD earned him POTG honors. It’s amazing what a 70-yard score can do for a player’s efficiency. David McComb was remarkably efficient (12/15, 120 yards) but I didn’t take any chances with him. He only threw deep twice, including one pass to Braylon Isom for 46 yards. Isom was the leading receiver with 60 yards.

The hawks in my neighborhood have been screeching throughout the morning. I’d say that is a good sign but I distinctly remember the exact same thing happening the morning of the Northwestern game two years ago and we know how that turned out.

Group of five guys show I enjoy watching to just catch up on what we do not get on networks. And they are wrong a lot which is entertaining.
Today they clearly called Chuck for his opinion. Sounded just like him lol.
We have no chance according to them. Which means we could win this.

It’s coming up. Pre-game (11;30-12:00) show was about the OSU game.
Game is being played on WGN in Chicago, didn’t think I’d ever see Miami play there unless we played Northwestern and didn’t get picked up by BTN for whatever reason.
