Other Non-MAC Bowl Games

Remember when Miami hockey beat Michigan in OT to go to the Frozen Four? I do.

The Washington QB pass release reminds me of Sherm Smith…quick lefty snap release w velocity. Sherm didn’t have a lot of touch but he could throw a dart

Daniels over Penix was a bad decision at the time and Penix is making it look criminal tonight.

Penix can sling it!

Washington gonna blow this

Wow, Sark is supposed to be a great play caller, but those last 4 plays were weak

Johnson’s injury on third down changed everything. The clock had to stop. If no injury Texas would have had the ball deep in their own territory with about 20 seconds left to play.

Wow! What a heart stopper!

DeBoard may be the national coach of the year but he seriously needs to visit Chuck and let Chuck show him how to close out a game with a two score lead. Sitting in the sports book at South Point last night people with bets on Washington were just ripping him as an idiot. Plus, his stupid strategy led to two key players getting injured and now one or both might not be Available next week.

Nescsadad, if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to go see Boys in the Boat this week before the championship game. It is a very well done historical movie depicting a walkon JV team at the University of Washington in 1938 ( I think) winning Olympic Gold. It was depression era and the Olympics were the most famous ever as it was a major publicity campaign by the Nazis to show their dominance to the world. Somewhere I read that the Washington football team has adopted the “ Washington against the World “ attitude from the movie.

Bama had the right look for a QB draw. The Mike LB vacated the middle when the play started.

We saw this movie in Fort Collins during our Christmas visit with family. I highly recommend it.

It looked like it was designed to be an RPO to the left as the back who was in motion immediately looked back to Milroe after the snap. Milroe just panicked.

" Milroe was supposed to start middle and cut left. (Watch Guard pull and lead and not trap) They got what they wanted with the UM DE as he ran up field and they didn’t have to block him."

It didn’t help Milroe that it was a terrible snap.

It was a designed QB draw. Left guard pulled, QB was supposed to follow him to the left. He had a TD if he did that. However, like you indicated, he panicked after the low snap and just went up the middle.

Yep. Saw it in SF last Saturday evening. All of us associated with UW are well aware of that story about the blue collar team of students put together that beat the Germans in Berlin in 1936. Glad the rest of the country now knows about it.

The Montlake regatta - featuring rival Cal and some international teams - is still held on the first Saturday in May every year…the unofficial opening day of boating season in Seattle. It is a must-attend event.

George and Amal Clooney attended the premier in Seattle about three weeks ago.

There was discussion in Huskyland about it yesterday, too. But it was pointed out it was the same offensive strategy he used to put Oregon away in the PAC-12 Championship game.

He was declared a genius when Johnson picked up the first down against the Ducks.

The possibly feigned Duck injury after first down stopped the clock. If Johnson hadn’t been hurt it would have kept running after third down, leaving Texas with very little time after the punt. The accidental catch interference 15 yard penalty on the punt was unfortunate.

There was a lot of conversation in the football world yesterday about a need for a rule change, to where the team leading with the ball trying to run the clock isn’t disadvantaged by an injury stoppage. Stay tuned.

I can’t believe I’m about to turn off this game. Such hatred for Mich. I can’t bear to watch. Lol

Not a huge Michigan fan but I’m rooting for them. Harbaugh’s last game with them.
