And there it is. With Clemson seeded 12 and having just beaten SMU, SMU is out.
Gloating a little: So much for the traditional East Coast bias against all those “soft West Coast/PAC12 teams” that will certainly be “taught a lesson” when they have to play all the big boy Midwest and Southern teams.

Heck, Go ahead and expand to 64 teams now. Final can be played the night before the first day of the NFL draft.

UCLA: 3-6
ACC:
Cal: 2-6

Fair play to Oregon and Arizona St, but only 3/10 getting conf winning records while 5 have 3 or 2 conference wins isn’t exactly a great overall show of West Coast dominance.

Conferences only have to blame themselves for not getting teams in they think should get in. Looking at the SEC specifically, having a 16 team league with only 8 conference games is dumb. With the incredibly unbalanced scheduling resulting from conferences wanting to become bloated to cash a super large TV check, schools themselves only control 3 or 4 games scheduling-wise.
And with SMU, that was their first loss with their current starting QB. They changed QBs after they lost to BYU at the beginning of the year.

A lot of IU alumni will be going through some emotional torment about who to root for.
The answer is easy, your alma mater! If you like the other school so much, go there (same with Miami’s OSU fans)

The funny thing is the ND hotel shuttle service drops off fans at the IU school of medicine-South Bend campus parking lot.
