I think I read the Lumberjacks had never won a game in the Clark Cup finals in franchise history -I’d be nervous too😅
And they were on the road. Coach said Waterloo is one of the more intimidating opposing rinks in the league.
Carogioiello to St. Lawrence
The Lumberjacks have a chance to win their first Clark Cup in OT coming up. Shika has played well in back to back nights. Deputy has been a bit quiet but then again the whole team has struggled to score against Waterloo. It took some fireworks at the end of regulation and a goal with probably less time left than Reilly Smith’s to get them here.
Shika’s undefeated streak in the playoffs this season is on the line (I was sure it was gone a minute ago when his team hadn’t scored in 59 minutes😂)
Update…they lost
Thanks to a tip from a MHT member who caught this…
Deciding game is Tuesday night.

2-1 Muskegon with five minutes left in the second period.
Deputy assisted on the first goal. J. Christ had the second.
He can’t hit a curveball, but apparently he can score goals.
To be fair, Jobu couldn’t help hit a curveball either.
2-2 after two. Shika: 24 of 26 in net.
Should’ve been 3-1🙄
Yeah, Muskegon had a goal waved off.
J. Christ again. Jesus.
3-2 Muskegon.
Free hockey. 3-3 after regulation.
Shika 31 of 34.
Edit: Christ wins it in OT! Muskegon wins the Clark Cup.
Shika: 34 saves.
GREAT
This may be an unpopular opinion but I think this backs up Noreen’s decision to let almost all of the team go from last year and not ask them back.
I feel bad since they are “kids/young adults” and I undoubtedly believe most if not all of them did their best to preform last year but the results weren’t there. At the end of the day with NIL and transfer portal this is what the players wanted and it goes both ways. I’d prefer it go back to the old days where you had players for 4 years and developed them and transfers were rare but this is where we are at.
Having the #4 recruiting class is something that definitely says we are headed in the right direction. Haven’t had a recruiting class this high for probably a decade. Doesn’t mean we win the league next year or go to the NCAA but I would expect to see significant improvement from last year and in league play.
Bonk I’m sure you are pretty excited about this news.
How much does hockey recruiting weigh quantity vs quality? Does the fact that we have so many incoming freshmen bump us up in the rankings?
