It all starts now. Forget about this past year. Forget about the prior years. Forget about the prior decade. Everything gets measured starting today, March 10, 2025. Should we move down to the CCHA? That gets answered based on what happens starting March 10, 2025. Do we have what it takes to compete in the SEC of college hockey? Did Noreen succeed or fail? Is Noreen ‘the guy?’ Same answer, March 10, 2025. Are the challenges we face endemic to who we are as an institution or was the previous decade of futility a mirage? Don’t know as of March 10, 2025, but to answer that question start measuring right now. Don’t give me any BS about what happened with Bergeron or Blasi. It does not matter. What matters is what happens starting March 10, 2025. “But Lurker, wah wah wah, we’ve sucked for so long, wah wah wah.” If on March 10, 2026 we still suck as bad as on March 10, 2025, I’ll listen. Until then? Talk to the hand.
To put it another way, if in a year from now the landscape still looks like Pride Rock with Scar in charge, then we likely have our answer. If, however, Pride Rock shows glimpses of Simba and Nala returning, then we have our answer.
I like how you’re lurking. Most don’t lurk it correct. But you do. You lurk it with class. I agree with you. We will know the truth within a year. Gotta be better.
The incoming recruiting class is extremely exciting, and it sounds like they’re nailing down a couple more that will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Bonk,I count 18 recruits shown on RinkNet. “ college commitments.com” for ‘25-‘26,commits to Miami.
More in ‘26-‘27 year, etc.” is that about right? If so Coach needs to lock down his 18 recruits and add
2 more which totals 26. ( Ncaa roster max.) when add the 6 current players being retained for next season? 18+2+6=26 for ‘25-‘26.?
There are still a couple of question marks but that’s close.
One thing I’ve heard is that non-overage CHL players have been reluctant to commit to NCAA schools for fear of retribution by their current teams (benchings, line demotions, trades, etc.).
Sounds like Miami has a couple of players it is expecting to bring in in that situation.
Out of respect for the families we’re not posting names at this time, but I’m pleased with the ones that are staying, and they’re all good enough to play in this league.
For the most part it’s the guys I expected and hoped to see back with the team this fall.
