NIU Week 2022

Do or die tonight, boys. Gabbert out tonight and probably out next week, too, according to Bake. Both of his injuries this year are due largely to coaching malfeasance. Does that count as “for cause?”

I’ll pretty much guarantee he won’t play next week if we lose tonight. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he jumps in the portal next week - with two years of eligibility.

Pretty bad…player management, really no excuse based on UK scenario…have to think for the players at times.

Oh well.

The OU situation was even worse.

Why would he leave? Guy has talent but has been injured every year except his freshman campaign. I can’t see him jumping the line at a major school when as you go up a level the QB room only gets deeper. I think he comes back. Hopefully healthy and ready to have a big year.

Disagree. He might have seen enough. I think he’s close to graduating. A lot of his peers are done. Lots of P5 looking for an accomplished QB - especially one with two years eligibility. He might even be fearful Chuck can’t protect him.

Well to be fair, both Brett’s incidents were more on him, once he was in between the lines. We’ll never know what is discussed on the sideline.

How was OU’s worse, was game in hand? Did not think so?

You def weren’t paying attention. We were down 16 at mid field with about 30 seconds left. He was in the game running around like he was going to get us a 16 point TD. The injury came when he scrambled with 3 seconds left. Aveon should have been in the game running out the clock in a belly series.

He and Chuck are likely friends. And if you think about it, why wouldn’t they be close? Chuck and Brett probably chat offense a lot. A #1 QB and coach have that kind of relationship. There’s history there after 4 years.

First down delayed handoff to Tyre for 1 yard gain. Innovative!

Sure.

Gabbert has one year of eligibility remaining.

@richard not if he doesn’t play another game. He’s only played in four this year.

You are not pay attention to what I said…it’s a bit on Brett once he’s in between the lines …I’ve said many times, and just above he should not have been in there…but once you go in, Brett could have avoided these by not trying to extend the play(s), that really had no consequence (other than getting hurt).

Back to the game…don’t have this channel on cord cut, and not feeling like adding back on to Sling…we started with ball, went nowhere I take it?

And you missed my entire point. It was about coaching malfeasance, not QB malfeasance. He should not have been in there. Everything else is moot.

I would be shocked if any P5 team handed Brett a starting QB job

I take it our O is still as stellar as ever?

Kent up on EMU, looks cold in northern Ohio, DeKalb must be a treat.

32 yard punt? Windy or is Miami just being Miami under Chuck, and faltering.

Lots of blowing snow and 30 degrees.

Got it…yea us.

This offense absolutely blows without #5.

Offense looks like it will be lucky to score 10 points right now…
