Two defense oriented teams with inconsistent to bad offenses and the weather is saying there could be rain. Obvious rock fight incoming.

Miami - 33
NIU - 6
28-21 Miami. Mozee keeps the 100 plus train going.
31-21 Defending Champions
Miami 20
NIU 17
Miami 16-13
Miami 23-16
NIU is a hard team to figure out…they usually run the ball for big total yardage stats but having trouble scoring sometimes. In games they have narrowly won, they typically have much more yardage and TOP.
We could have trouble controlling their rushing attack so this game worries me. Hopefully w the emergence of Mozee complementing our passing attack we can put some points on the board. I think it may be a close game.
Miami 27-24.
17-14 good guys
24-17 Miami
Yeah, this game worries me.
NIU very inconsistent this year.
Fortunately, they haven’t lived up to their ND upset since then.
But, still, there’s the potential of that team that day resurfacing.
Hopefully, not.
Miami has been playing with a mission since falling behind Toledo.
Keep it rolling.
Good Guys, 24-17.
College Football 25 prediction:
NIU 17
Miami 27
NIU marched down the field on the opening drive and kicked the field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Miami responded with a lengthy drive capped off by Keyon Mozee scoring from 6 yards out. Unfortunately NIU answered with a 31-yard TD pass to take the 10-7 lead on the final play of the quarter. Miami dominated the 2nd quarter but could take the lead thanks to a pair of red zone interceptions. At the half, NIU still had the 10-7 lead.
That changed quickly after halftime. Just 1:07 into the third, Brett Gabbert hit Reggie Virgil on the run for a 77-yard TD to reclaim the lead for Miami. The two teams exchanged punts, allowing NIU to start its possession at the Miami 49. The D made sure NIU’s great field possession resulted in absolutely nothing. On the first snap, Matt Salopek blitzed up the middle (he actually guessed draw to the RB but it worked nonetheless) and he hit Ethan Hampton, forcing a fumble. In an animation I’ve never seen in a video game, Brian Ugwu made sure he recovered the loose ball by continuing his bull rush, smashing into Hampton and driving him backwards, using Hampton’s body to block other NIU players from getting to the football. It certainly wasn’t intentional, (I was just trying to get to the ball) but it was amusing and effective. To add insult to injury, one of NIU’s lineman ended up diving and landing right on top of Hampton. Full force. Boom. Poor guy. Suddenly it went from NIU starting at Miami’s 49 to Miami starting on NIU’s 39. Don Dzioban connected on a 38-yard FG to bump the lead to 17-10. Early in the 4th, Gabbert found Jack Coldiron for a 3-yard score to bump the lead to 10. NIU scored midway through the quarter but Miami drained most of the clock and Dom added another FG in the final minute to ice it. NIU had a chance to at least get a score and try an onside kick but with 10 seconds left, the Huskies went for the TD instead of the 40-yard FG on 4th & 2. I’m note sure why… but it didn’t matter anyway because Caleb Tubbs picked off the desperation pass in the end zone to officially ice it.
Gabbert was 17/25 for 261 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs. Virgil earned POTG honors with his 5 catches for 150 yards and the long TD. Mozee had 131 rushing yards. And, of course, Salopek and Ugwu combined for one fantastic fumble recovery.
NIU… 10 0 0 7 17
MIA… 7 0 10 10 27
31-20 Miami
Gonna go 27-17 good guys. NIU has a good running game but I like our secondary’s chances of shutting them down and making them one-dimensional. Not one we can take easily.
NIU 16
Notre Dame 14
No idea . Hoping for a win.
Dry conditions for the first game in three weeks. I like the home team in the home finale.
Miami 23. NIU 14.
66-6
Did I read it correctly that NIU leads the MAC in Yards gained on offense but very little actual scoring?
