Salopek needs 1 tackle to reach 100 tackles again. That will give him 4 straight 100 tackle seasons. First in program history. And we have had some great LB pass through Miami.

I have to admit I didnt like much of what I saw when he was a safety but he has been terrific for us for his career
NIU defense turned it up in the second half, but the OL did a good job against one of the best teams in the league. NIU recorded 4 sacks - one they out schemed us (backside blitz from the OLB) and one was a huge miss by our RB. Mozee had a 91 yard rush game and Brett had a few nice scrambles. We also pounded one in close. This against a front seven that outplayed ND

If we can play like we did in the 1st half the rest of the season, we’ll win the MAC, outside of the INT and missed FG obviously. The punting needs to become more consistent. Part of the reason why NIU stayed in the game was their ability to flip fields with their punts. The 1 good punt we had in the 2nd half pinned them deep and ultimately led to their turnover.
