Kopp is theoretically better than Humphrey’s…this is a big time pickup. We recruited him in HS, he’s 6’5", add a little weight and i’m super excited
Pretty nice get.
"Polish: Can make all throws to all levels with a fairly quick trigger attached to right arm. Throws with great timing and anticipation, along with intermediate accuracy. Could stand to sit in the pocket longer to allow routes to develop. Getting through second and third read could enhance strengths.
Bottom Line: Kopp is one of the streakiest quarterbacks in the class of 2021. When he is on, few can hit all three levels with velocity and accuracy quite like he can. As he tweaks fundamentals and plays for a more consistent presence, including getting deeper in progressions and throwing from a strong base, he will have the chance to light up Power Five defenses down the road."
Kopp started the final game of the season for CU against Utah. Finished 15/28 123 yards, 1 TD 0 INT
He comin’
I definitely wouldn’t be encouraged if I were Hesson or Humphries. That said, we didn’t sign a QB wo Signing Day and most recruiting logic suggests taking (at least) 1 QB per class. So, the numbers still seem to work out.
Has anyone told him Koehler is his OC!!
While I have no knowledge of why he is on school no. 3, I must admit I am a little concerned of the fact that we are #3. I am sure that CM told the kid that nothing is guaranteed–ever. But this is his last stop (I would hope). So, nothing will be given to him–whatever his ranking.
So, we do what we all do all the time–we wait. But there is no way Brett is anything other than the starting QB of this team. Until he leaves or gets hurt, whichever comes first.
I don’t know what happened at Houston, but the situation at Colorado was pretty obvious. Deion was clearing house and basically pushing kids out the door.
Deion basically told the players they will have to earn your playing time. He told them the team was bad and he’s there to win. I would love hearing that if I’m a player at Colorado.
1000% agree. It’s a great lesson to teach for life.
Caleb Shaffer to Oklahoma
And he also brought his own kid in to play QB. Yeah, that.
I’m pretty sure Brett’s plan is to play one more year at Miami, stay healthy, put up good numbers and transfer out as a doctoral candidate to play his final year.
Yeah, they have to earn their playing time at Colorado, unless you’re the coach’s son in which case you’re anointed the QB. Why would any quarterbacks stay?
He’s got a son who was a 4 star recruit. Likely the best QB in that room.
In hockey the general assumption is that you shouldn’t coach your own kid beyond Peewees. That’s age 13-14. I guess that’s not a rule of thumb in football…
It’s funny because I was watching Tiger coach his son and thought “wow, this kid hit the jackpot” namely because Tiger can make complex things so simple. Certainly not one size fits all though, I agree.
Yeah, QBs never get hurt.
Well, stars mean nothing. Most NFL players are 3 stars. Obviously dad coaching holds a lot of weight. Personally I would stay and compete, always. I would also be ready in case of injury. To each his own though, and our gain!
Yeah, NO
