Decided to make a thread for the MLB season. Let’s start it off with a former Redhawk making the majors.

But sadly…Sam Bachman is back on the DL again. He hasn’t been healthy in camp.
Is Grant Hartwick still with the Mets organization?
Believe he’s starting the year in AAA Syracuse for the Mets… Mets friend of mine was excited about a Miami battery
Are you doing the fly-over?
Welcome back to New York, Nestor.
Salary cap, anyone? Otherwise it’ll be the Dodgers, the Yankees, and a few other big spenders. Oh and the Mets. Of course they spend money but they don’t win much.
So yesterday I watched the Reds get shutout, then the Guardians get shutout. Today will be better, right. Well the Reds have been shut out for 6 innings so far, there is hope though as rookie Jack Leiter is being removed. My own personal streak is at 24 innings.
The Reds did 50% of what they needed to do in that they got a better manager. Problem is, they did very little to fix their poorly constructed roster. Buckle up for another 75 wins. Sucks but I am pretty certain that’s happening
The people who supposedly know these things are already wondering about a half dozen moves / non-moves of Francona. That’ll happen when you’ve had a blown save by the last reliever to make the roster, and lost a pair of 1-0 games.
Bell proved capable of losing a lot of one run games. That’s the muscle memory people like me might have. And that Walks Will Haunt but that was from the old Jumbotron. It was glorious.
They did wonders with that original scoreboard with big bulbs. Cincy shirts has a Walks Will Haunt tshirt.
Circa 1987 or so, I once saw “Walks Will Haunt” scribbled on the stall wall at Frisch’s. It felt equal parts totally out of place and absolutely perfect.
So the Reds finished another scoreless night and in the 7th the Guardians finally broke through with a RUN! 33 innings in a row I watched my teams fail to score a single run. At this rate the season will be dead before I go to my first game on May 15. I guess I should be thinking about Wisconsin.
Tito is an upgrade for the Reds, but he’s old school like Dusty and will likely frustrate the analytics guis. Sticks with underperforming veterans for far too long (i.e. Amed Rosario). He was loved in Cleveland, but the Guardians got a lot better under Vogt last year.
If the Reds can get 24 every night, I like their chances.
It’s a fairly easy drive up to Detroit. GO BEISBOLCATS.
She’s a trooper!
