What’s past is past. Now it’s time to make this a home game, be loud, and kick some ass.
Prices are going up!
Yeah, time to make lemonade out of lemons. It’s not like this is on Colorado Springs or El Paso. This is a A HOME GAME. Treat this sum’bitch like the glorified NIT game it is and beat em bad!!!
It’s a chance for our fans to make it a home game while taking a win and earning an extra tournament share. Stop being disappointed and think about how fucked Andy Enfield must feel right now. Let’s make him feel even worse on Wednesday night.
If you still aren’t all in, call Shaka Smart for a pep talk. In 2011, VCU got the last bid and a trip to first four amid a lot of haterade from the major conference shills. They showed up in Dayton with a chip on their shoulders, and you can look up how that turned out.
Be like VCU.
We’re in the fucking dance. Thats all that matters. Survive and advance.
Its been almost 20 years, first MAC at-large in 27 years.
Lets roll
They didn’t quite pull it off in ‘85, but I was there to see Harp throw down over Len Bias.
In the second game, Navy upset LSU behind a stellar game from a then virtually unknown Midshipman named David Robinson. Still one of the best afternoons of basketball I’ve ever seen.
Wow. Basically you were missing MJ for the best in the country that year.
How much were tix?
I was a freshman, and the game was on the Friday everyone was heading home for spring break anyway, so we packed the place. I think student tickets were maybe $20.
NCAA tickets used to be really cheap for students. One of my grad years at Duke, I was stuck in Durham for spring break, so I road tripped over to Greensboro and watched the first two rounds (four games on a Thursday and two on Saturday) with a student coupon book that cost only $50.
I was about 10 rows behind this basket, skipped afternoon high school classes to go with a friend who had moved to Centerville from Maryland. He came away happy but super impressed by Harp and co.
$20 seems kinda pricey for college hoops back then. I paid $35 to see U2 on their Achtung Baby/ZOO Tv tour in 1991, and Big Audio Dynamite and Public Enemy opened up for them.
I’d thought maybe $12?
Carm, as you age memory is the first thing to go.
I forget what the second thing is.
I was trying not to pull a ridiculously low number out of thin air. All I know is that I was a broke-as-shit scholarship student who spent the rest of that spring break picking up litter and road kill along I-75 as a temp job with the highway department. And even my dumb ass could afford a ticket.
FWIW, the cheapest tickets on StubHub for Dayton on Wednesday night are currently $220. You can get into Tuesday night for $38. MILLETT NORTH is gonna happen.
Either that or Prairie View/Lehigh are really into their teams right now.
Got my four tix. Almost $1K on Seat Geek.
I hope that Miami U has a student allocation. UD Arena has a capacity of 13,090. Let’s fill this joint with Red and White!
New definition of irony:
The same day and time Miami takes the floor to play SMU at UD Arena, the Flyers will be playing an NIT game as the #2 seed at Bradley.
UD won’t play Miami and now Miami has Dayton’s court
Resident troll aside, good for Kent. I’m always glad to see some additional MACTION get into the post-season.
Can you get tickets through the Miami ticket office or are those limited to students and season ticket holders?
