Miamians on the PGA Americas Tour

Congratulations to Patrick Flavin on winning his 2nd PGA Tour event!! What a clutch final round! He shoots 67 (-4) to finish at -17 and take the 94 Abierto del Centro Zurich Open in Argentina. Way to go, Patrick!! I think that puts him in 1st place in the season-long points lead, too. Outstanding!!

Danny Fisher made his 2nd cut of the season (in his 2nd tourney) and finished T36 (-2). He was T2 after the 1st round, but stumbled a bit in the 2nd & 3rd rounds. A nice final round 68 (-3) helped ease the pain, though.

Charlie Nikitas was also in this event, but just missed the cut by 1 stroke. Ugh! The next PGA Americas Tour event is the Diners Club Peru Open in Lima on May 14-17. Let’s see if Patrick can go back-to-back. He’s definitely playing well!

Oh, “Peru.” I thought they were playing at Tamarac or Shawnee CC.

Patrick won the Temecula Open (which I thought was on one of the tours?) but if not, just fantastic news.

You are correct, Yellow…this is his 2nd PGA Tour win. I’ve updated my earlier post.

All good, I’m just glad to see these guys do well. I hope Brad Adamonis can get hot again and make a few senior tour cuts. Then we will have 4 guys to pull for.

Looks like this tour is following my March itinerary in reverse.

Miami verbal commit Evan Menges with a 64 at Four Bridges yesterday in the US Open Local qualifier. He’s only a junior at Dublin Jerome HS.

Oooooh…Patrick Flavin bogies the 18th hole to fall back into a tie for 1st place in the Diners Club Open. He would have won it with a par. Now he’s now headed into a playoff to try and get his 2nd consecutive PGA Americas tour victory. Come on, Patrick!!

Charlie finished 14th so nice weekend by the alum.

Welp, Patrick double bogeys the first playoff hole to finished 2nd. To make matters worse, his opponent bogeyed. Ugh! He goes +3 on two consecutive trips down the 18th hole. Clearly, something didn’t fit his eye. Still, a 2nd place finish keeps him in the points lead for a spot on the Korn Ferry Tour.

As Yellow pointed out, Charlie Nikitas shot a 65 (-7) on Sunday to leap up the leaderboard and finish T17. Nice job, Charlie!

Danny Fisher missed his first cut of the season.

Flavin has PGA Tour level game. Just needs to get there. A win and a second essentially locks up his KFT card for next year.

The hitting distance advantage of altitude peaks at about 7000 feet, e.g., Mexico City.

Both Patrick & Charlie made the “Players to Watch” notes ahead of this weekend’s PGA Americas tour event in Ecuador. https://www.pgatour.com/americas/article/news/latest/2026/05/20/kia-open-de-ecuador-presentado-por-diners-club-tournament-preview-storylines

Another outstanding week for Miamians on the PGA Americas Tour! Both Patrick Flavin and Danny Fisher finished in the Top 10 (both T8) @ -11. Danny shot a 64 (-7) on Sunday to shoot up the leaderboard and snag his first Top 10 of the season. Patrick started the day in T4, but slipped back with a 73 (+2). Still, he maintains a commanding lead in the Points List, so a KFT promotion seems inevitable…and they’re not even out of South America yet. Charlie Nikitas made the cut on the number and then shot back-to-back 68s on the weekend to finish T32. Well done!

The boys have one more week in South America (Bogota, Columbia) and then the tour heads to Wichita in late June, and then on to Canada for the remainder of the season (with one week in Minnesota).

Not a great week for the Miamians on the PGA Americas Tour. Patrick Flavin made the cut in Bogota, Columbia, but finished T48 @ -4. He is still in the point lead by a healthy margin, so that’s good. Neither Charlie Nikitas or Danny Fisher made the cut.

The next event is June 25-28 in Wichita, KS. Then the tour heads to Canada in July. Hopefully, being on home soil re-energizes everyone and all 3 guys can make the cut.
