I might ask: Is Kansas big time if UC thinks that? We just took their potential starting QB for this season to add to our pool of solid QBs. ![]()
Time to beat UC especially if this could be the last.

Just called Miami ticket office. Grumpy has it rightā¦cheapest ticket right now is $156. Next week notice going out for general admission sorts of tickets at the D Day noted price range noted on the USucks boards.
Looking at the SeatGeek site, there are plenty of tickets in the upper deck for $62 on the Miami side. There are also a lot in the First Financial Club for $156-$186. In the world of dynamic pricing for big games, this seems like a pretty good deal.
Public on sale date was supposed to be 10 AM today [6/22). I have been monitoring and nothing opened up? Not sure what that means??
On sale opened up at 12am.
Arenāt we the ones who decided to pull the plug on this rivalry?
Think it was something along the lines of: they donāt want to come to Oxford and not get paid while paying us to come to their place. Like they would pay for any other visiting OCC team. If they donāt want to pay us weāll go find someone who will or get ourselves a home game that we can pay or do a home and home with. (Las Vegas?)
Rather than come to Oxford and not get paid theyāll schedule a OOC pay game to a visiting team and take the income from a Nippert Stadium home game. We canāt afford to pay them what theyād want to come play in Oxford. Thus the end of the series. Think the last contract was a 2 for 1 and a āhomeā game for us in Paul Brown. (??? somebody out there knows the details. Probably here in HawkTalk somewhere.)
Yes, we notifed UC that we were not going to play the 2025 & 2028 games scheduled at Nippert. Iām making the assumption that Sayler was trying to redo the deal to get us a bigger payday for the away games and UC declined. Once we pulled out UC pulled out of their 2027 & 2029 games at Yager.
Our OOC schedule is complete through 2027. Very open beyond that. I think the most recent addition was the game at IU. Itās been very quiet on this front. Our OOC no longer shows up on our Miami site.
Kiddies got dad (and Mom) tickets for UC for Fatherās Day! Club Level $$$ I thinkā¦they really love their mom! (Me too but poor gal is a UC grad
) Waiting for email confirmation.
Once they forfeit their win with their degenerate gambling QB our TQL win will put us up 62-60!
BEAT UC!
Anyone out there know where to look to see what UCās paying for their pay games for teams coming into Nippert?
The cancellation letter in 2XHawkās scrape has cancellation fees but not sure that would be same amount as what everyone is paying as a ābuyā fee.
So TQL could be the final game between the two for the foreseeable future?
They paid BG 975k for last years game
If the TQL thing goes well maybe we can hope for a game every 4 years or something like that but so far thereās a whole lot of available seats on both sides.
Worth noting that we had to cancel first for the buyouts to cancel out like they ended up doing. The buyout per game went from 100k to 500k five years prior to the game.
If we had waited five more weeks to cancel (after September 9th, 2023), we would have had to pay $1 million to cancel both the 25 and 28 games. UC could have then cancelled 27 and 29 for just $600k and pocketed 400k.
So itās not really a smoking gun that we were the party to initiate, itās possible we were worried that UC was going to cancel anyways, and we didnāt want to be left holding the bag.
Good explaination
IMO, both parties are to blame. If Colorado and Colorado State can play every year or at least every other year, alternating locations, there is no reason UC and Miami canāt.
I think Colorado vs Colorado state is the exception. A lot of these nonconference rivalries are going away/being played less often
Washington/Washington State is staying annually. I think Beavs vs Ducks, too.
Apple cup I believe has no dates scheduled past 2028 so we will see. Oregon state Oregon has future dates but none for the next two seasons
