Miami vs ASU at Goggin 1/31-2/1

I did some modeling, it’s very, very unlikely we’d fall below Mercyhurst. If we lose out then Mercyhurst would have to win 4-5 games AND RIT would have to win 3-4. None of that is happening.

Want the good news? If we split with Duluth (and lose the rest) and RIT keeps doing RIT things like losing 3 of 4, we jump past them into the 62nd PWR spot! The strength of the NCHC OOC is like a rising tide that lifts all boats, even ours. Kick ass, bruddah!

Back to lurking.

I hear ya 2x, but after the last 8 years of awfulness, just being relatively competitive seems so far away, and sounds pretty good.

1-0 asu
Our NCHC PK % must be around 50 feels we almost always allow a goal if there’s a power play

Who was the ASU player that got hurt?

Artem Shlaine

Thank goodness for (very) small favors, Lurker. We are not the very worst in the land but a close runner up, eh?
As Theoden exclaimed in the Lord of the Rings, “how did it come to this”?

Miami scores with .6 seconds left 4-1 the comeback is on!
But in reality the RedHawks now have lost 18 in a row. They had 11 shots on goal today

Mercyhurst did get a tie tonight

Let’s be honest. I wish hockey was good again, but if it had to die so that football and basketball could live, I can accept that.

One positive: We’ve only been shut out three times all season. There’s that.

Uh…OK. I guess.

We hired a coach whose main selling point was recruiting to take over a horrifically depleted roster in a sport that has a much longer recruiting cycle. Year 1 was always going to be a punt.

Unless it gets so bad that it causes decommits or tanks our recruiting with classes 2-3 years down the road (which to my knowledge it hasn’t yet), this season is just something to ignore and move on from as quickly as possible.

Re: ArtemShlaine: As per the paramedics it was a pretty serious concussion, but
He was talking to the crew in the ambulance en route to the hospital. And was making sense. He’s going to be OK.

Really happy to hear Shlaine is going to be alright. He went down in the same location on the ice as Chris Wideman had years ago (throat slashed with a skate blade) and it really gave me chills.

It was Will Weber that had his neck slashed - about 100 stiches
