Today at 11 am the Miami RedHawk women play for the MAC Championship at 11 am in Cleveland. If there is any way you can be there, please go. Toledo travels well, and Miami deserves the fan support. Miami wins, and we are in the NCAA Tournament. The last time Miami played in a MAC Title Game was back on March 15, 2008, which is also Miami’s only MAC Tournament Championship win in program history.
Toledo is 17-14 on the year and came into the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed at 9-9 in MAC play. Kendall Carruthers is tops on the team in scoring (12.3 ppg.), while Patricia Anumgbo also averages double figures (12.2 ppg.). Miami beat Toledo 63-55 earlier in the year, but this is a new game.
Not that it matters at this point, but Toledo was picked to finish 2nd in the MAC preseason poll. Miami was picked 7th. Miami has a head coach who remembers these things.
SO COME OUT AND CHEER ON THIS RECORD-SETTING MIAMI WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM!
The defensive intensity is phenomenal. I agree with showing confidence in the entire team by sticking to normal rotations. That will pay dividends in the second half.
