Miami’s 2025 Bowl Game

Kennesaw is on a magical roll. They might be a tougher out than Louisville.

Fresno is 260 miles closer to Tucson than Ft. Collins

True but Colorado State hadn’t been to a bowl in years before last year, and their fans really turned out for the Snoop Bowl in a big way. Fresno will no doubt send a decent contingent, but they tend to go to a bowl most years and are not likely to bring as many as CSU did.

I don’t think Miami will bring as many either, given so many made the expensive trip last season. I’m not sure Tucson will be as excited for Miami OH 2.0 as they were our first year there.

This would have been a better destination for us I think. Especially playing Louisville.

=>U of L would crush Miami. They have beaten 2 teams in CFP.

Toledo is in trouble.

They also lost to the worst Clemson team in a generation, lost to Cal, and got dog-walked by SMU. The Cards are really inconsistent, and there’s a reason they’re 8-4. (Edited for dumb-assery.)

Miami or Toledo could not compete with any of these 3 teams they lost to either.

I think Louisville was 8-4

=>8-4. But point taken.

Must see tv!

Ps, where is that annoying Toledo fan. It’s like he forgot he loved our board. Pity.

Apologies for that. Working too quickly scanning records.

FWIW, the one Cards fan who is a regular over at BDT thinks Brohm’s teams play up or down to the perceived level of their opponent and aren’t great at closing out games. Toledo’s problem apparently is going to be that JohnnyMac is the only guy left in town to coach them.

Alas, I am strictly a hockey coach these days.

They drew 40,000 last year. That wasn’t because of MACTION or even relatively close Colorado State. It’s because a ton of folks in Arizona wanted to check out Snoop’s party. If attendance eases off this year, it’ll be because the novelty value of the party is gone. But it sounded like a great entertainment experience last year and got great word of mouth, so I’d guess they’ll have a similar crowd. Snoop is a lot of things, but he’s an excellent promoter, and he knows how to deliver fun to his fans.

I resent that

I do agree that the locals enjoyed the party and the bowl will still have a good turnout this year, but CSU sent tons of people and I don’t think you will find either of the participants this year to maintain that level of enthusiasm.

I am expecting a nice crowd of around 30K plus but would be pleasantly surprised if it approaches 40K again.

Most bowl games are dumb, and are fun… I think that Miami lucked out by having a very silly yet bound-to-be entertaining game with another fun team, hosted by a great showman.

I’m looking forward to it!

Edit: There is NO conceivable way you could have convinced me 30 years ago when I was at Miami Connections doing the White Man’s Overbite to “Ain’t Nothing But A G-Thang” that this MF would be the sponsor of TWO bowl games that Miami would be playing in. Life is a funny thing …
