I have no info, but if Eli Yofan was only promised a scholarship for this upcoming season, then I assume the staff can recruit one more (hopefully a big) for the 2025 class.

Sounds like you were on the money with that opinion

Can’t the team fund up to 15 scholarships after one of the recent legal cases?

Even if the scholarship limit has been increased to 15, I recall that Coach Steele said recently that he really didn’t want to use even 13 'ships as it makes for unhappy players and guys jumping into the portal. The regular disruption to the roster and guys who may be a negative to team chemistry is what drove his comment, IIRC. I wouldn’t mind 15 as it assures that the coaches will have 2 solid rotations and more bodies for practice in case of injuries, academic issues, etc. However, I think that can be accomplished with 13 or even one or two fewer with walk-ons available for practice. Walk-ons don’t expect much if any playing time and are comfortable with that. If not, they “retire”. Don’t want an unhappy 'ship player who will jump to the portal be the best friend of our then best player who may jump in sympathy with his teammate.

No need to worry about 13-15 scholarship issues–there is ZERO chance that all current 'ship guys come back next season–that’s just the way things are. Just a matter of who and how many.

I agree. A new reality, for sure. Just hope it isn’t a top 8 guy.
