Maybe Nick fell for Eddie’s trolling?
Balllllllllsssssss
Not that I’m aware of
I could see it going one of two ways for Reece:
- A big time program takes a flyer on him because he’s 7ft and can shoot well from outside. He’s used a bit like Dirk maybe in the right system and likely a backup. Maybe a school close to home like Louisville does this.
- He goes lateral but to a coach he knows. Cleveland state.
I hope he comes back as he was starting to really improve.
So are we to interpret this that there are real indications that Reese might be coming back?
Very interesting, thanks for posting!
I put forth a simple and actionable plan to get Reece back, yet no love? Thanks.
I have been told by a reputable source that Reece’s asking price is $300,000, and this is not unusual because the market price for big men is sky high and out of the reach of most mid-majors. That market may eventually adjust as we get closer to the fall, but it is definitely a seller’s market for big men out there.
Seeing 7’1” is definitely attractive to coaches, but after some digging, I wonder how many of them feel he really plays like a 7 footer?
That’s nearly $43,000 per foot!
Has he considered buying a lottery ticket?
Does that mean I can re-enroll and ask for $236K?
It never hurts to ask.
Sadly I don’t think there’s much of a market for dudes with the height of Tom Cruise, hops of George Costanza, and ball skills of Barkley after the Monstars took his powers. Other than that I’m a gem.
It’s because he doesn’t play like a “7ft” is why he will definitely get paid. He can shoot from outside and a good passer. Exactly what modern offensive basketball wants from its bigs. He will easily get $300k if not more. Only thing will be health of his back.
Reece has a few things working against him: injury history and his rebounding, but I agree. He’s a true 7 footer (not like many who list themselves at 7) that actually has a decent shot. Someone will pay him.
I don’t think he would do well at the highest level of college hoops. He doesn’t have the body for that or the hands. But someone at a level slightly above us will pay him. I could see him being an all-conference type player, if not this year, then his senior year, in something like CUSA or A10. He’d have to stay healthy, obviously.
Hoop Hawk,
What will a top MAC men’s hoop roster nil cost be by the time Miami’s new arena opens?
Will Miami have the Nil $$ to compete?
Hopefully, by the time Miami’s new arena opens, there will be some additional shifting of the tides and the legislative process will be invoked to put a set of rules in place…otherwise, left unchecked, Miami’s men’s BB team may be a bunch of mediocre players with limited basketball skills and unable to be competitive against anyone with a fat checkbook…the current direction is unsustainable…or so I think.
