After watching way too many games this tournament, it would seem to me a mid major team built to get to Omaha needs four solid weekend starters and a strong midweek starter who can win a few midweek games against P4 teams.
OmaHawks someday!
Five solid starters? MLB teams can’t even get five solid starters.
It’s a goal, not a given. Four seeds need deeper pitching than one seeds if they hope to get to the CWS.
The definition of “solid starter” is very different in college than mlb

A couple of MAC guys here including MAC first team Blake Bevis
Did you ever read about Rice’s 2003 CWS championship and the pitchers on that team? Wow!
Looks like a good add - what was our team ERA the last two years? More and better pitching certainly needed.
I think this is one of ours becoming a traitor to the Red and White and defecting to the Evil Empire.
Noted - I misread the post

Nice signing! Get some more! As one that only wrote about Miami baseball in college, excited about the trajectory of this program. Has all the tools to field a consistently winning program and it definitely appears softball and baseball are headed in that direction.
Actually it appears he was a freshman last year this is a transfer. Still good. He didn’t tweet much last year so seeing high school posts confused me
Miami athletic fund sent an email recap of 2024-25 earlier today with this said about baseball:
“ With claiming a share of the regular season Mid-American Conference title, a MAC Tournament Championship, and an appearance in the NCAA Division I National Tournament, Miami Baseball dominated during the 2025 season.
In Head Coach Brian Smiley’s second year with the program, the 2025 MAC Coach of the Year piloted the RedHawks to its first conference title and national tournament appearance since 2005. In conference play, the Red and White finished 23-7, with several players earning All-MAC honors.
To capitalize on this momentum and highlight the importance of investing in this program, “The Miami 100” was launched in spring 2025, thanks to crucial support from the Miami University Baseball Alumni Advisory Committee.
This fundraising initiative brings together 100 Miami Baseball donors, each contributing $1,000 per year to the Red Brick Legacy Baseball Fund, with a goal of raising $100,000 annually to provide unprecedented resources for Miami Baseball.
The Miami University Baseball Alumni Advisory Committee has directed its focus on supporting the greatest needs for Coach Smiley and assisting him in building and maintaining a successful program for years to come. Donations to sport-specific Red Brick Legacy Funds empower student-athletes to maximize their legacy during their time on campus. Support helps coaches to recruit and retain student-athletes that will shape the future of our programs.
The Miami 100 is a special model that looks forward and adapts to the ever-changing landscape of college athletics. Donors can directly impact student-athletes, helping to provide essential resources and scholarships that are needed to build off of a stellar 2025 season.”
Adam Eaton regularly comments on Miami baseball Instagram posts. Maybe he can share some of his $42M career earnings

Unfortunately didn’t see this one until now. Big loss
Losing your ace is never a good thing.
To the big ten too. It’s one thing if he goes to the SEC, but the big ten isn’t really that much of a step above the MAC in baseball. Especially outside of the new west coast schools, Nebraska was the only big ten team outside of the west coast to make the NCAA tournament
