Miami at Western Michigan Saturday at 2:30 on ESPN+

This is the third year for Dwayne Stephens at Western and they have gone backwords. Last year they were a surprise team in conference play going 9-9 and beating us twice. However they are back towards the bottom of the league this season at 7-17( 4-7). In our first game in Oxford, we were up 30 at halftime and ended up with a 21 point victory.
This is a DH with the Bronco women hosting Northern Illinois at noon.

They are second in the MAC in rebounding but have been near the bottom in all shooting stats. Chaunsey Willis JR leads them in points per game at 16, assists with 5.4 pg, and steals with `1.7 pg. Javaughn Hanna 11.7, Markhi Strickland at 11.7, and Owen Lobsinger 10.2 are also in double figures. Lobsinger leads in rebounding at 7.0 pg.

After the Toledo romp Miami is now 19-5 ( 10-1) with a 5 game winning streak. We are in the top 50 national leaders in all kinds of stats, particularly shooting. 5th in the nation in effective FG% at 0.578 and 6th in 3 point % at 39.8% plus 3 others. We also are in the top 50 in TO Margin and TO’s forced and lead the MAC in steals per game.

Having two Miami guys have a 40 point game last happened 67 years ago. This season is going nicely, but at this point every team is shooting for us and every road game is dangerous as we are a target. Keep it going guys, concentrate on one game at a time.

Computer likes us by more than the spread as well

I would like an easy win, but I’ll take a MAC road win of any margin.

Coop bailing out a tough possession. Defense looking good so far.

Good to see both Woolfolk and Potter playing

Need to be tougher on the glass.

Have to rebound better, but both of the reach-in calls on Elmer haven’t been reciprocated on the other end.

We are going to need some tighter whistles to survive this one.

WMU announcers just said we are a very deep team.

Do these guys know ball?

Obviously not. Their kids aren’t being recruited for lacrosse.

If Woolfolk gets in foul trouble we are going to have a problem…

Woolfolk is working western. Lobsinger is coming off injury and it doesn’t look like he can keep up.

Does Craft have a weekly scoring quota he exhausted?

The rebounding is horrific

I feel like western is playing hard and getting more of the 50/50 balls.

Craft seems to be pressing a bit but Skaljac is doing well

Western is using their age advantage. Much stronger and using it to compensate for less skill.

Elmer just ended that man’s life

I’m pretty stunned this Western team put up 90+ against Akron.

Byers is tough. He plays bigger than his frame.
