Miami at Buffalo 7:00 Tuesday on ESPN+

Miami is 6-8 ( 0-2). Buffalo is 2-12 (1-1). After a disappointing season, UB fired their coach and hired Villanova Associate Head Coach George Halcavich III. Their starting lineup includes 3 transfer portal guys , one a 5th year in his final year, the other 2 are Seniors with 2 year’s eligibility. The other two starters are Freshmen. So far in the MAC they won 76 to 64 at Central and lost 82-77 at home to Western Michigan.

Here is their starting lineup vs WM and their stats from that game :
6-8 5th year SR Sy Chatman. Transfer from Illinois State. 24 points
6-6 SR Isaiah Adams Transfer from UCF. 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists.
6-4 FR Anquan Boldin, JR. 13 points, 6 rebounds. IMG Academy
6-9 SR Jonnivius Smith. 6 points, 13 rebounds Seton Hall
6-3 FR Ryan Sabol 15 points

They only used 3 guys off the bench, one of them for just 3 minutes, so basically a 7 man rotation. They also play 2 big men, which is a chance for us to match up with them.

Anquan Boldin Jr. or just a guy with same name??

It’s that one.

Very important game. Anybody know status for Ipsaro and Dean?

Of note, the Toledo at Kent game tonight at 7 is on CBSSN.

Just under 7 to go in half, Miami leads 24-21.

Bortz with all 21 of Buffalo’s points. He also has all of their rebounds, and amazingly, assists.

Buffalo hasn’t had a team this god awful since Reggie Witherspoon was there. Sucks that we only play them once for some dumb reason.

Good things happen when you don’t turn the ball over.

Bultman 6-6, 6 assists. Devilish.

I had to work late so only caught from 55-45 on but what a pleasant surprise

First half we did a poor defensive job on Fulcher, allowing him to drive at will. We also did a poor job on Sabol, a three point shooter that we left wide open, and fouled him shooting a three. Second half we corrected both things. Bultman was great again tonight, he is the glue that holds it all together, and he even got hot in the second half. Almost every time we set it up and worked the ball we got a great look and usually hit it. I thought second half was the best we have played. We sustained it until we subbed late in the game. Mirambeaux with a dominant game tonight and Morris was very good in the second half. Elmer and Cooper played well.
