Like 6 teams still with hopes for playing in the MAC. Right now, the 3 teams tied for first place are all Eastern Division teams. Not what the Western teams were expecting when they pushed for the 2 teams with the best record to play in the MACC. If Miami wins our last two games, we will be the regular season champion and play in the MACC. Even one loss makes it doubtful.
Tuesday Nov 19
7:00 Akron at Kent CBSSN Battle for the Wagon Wheel
7:30 Western at Central ESPN2 Battle for the Victory Cannon
8:00 Northern at Miami ESPN Playing for the Mallory Cup
No great place to post, but our ESPN “stop rate” (percent of defensive drives that end with a punt, turnover, or turnover on downs) is 13th in the nation at 71.4%. First in the MAC and fourth among G5 teams, Kent is last at 38.9%.
I’d still like to play them in the finals. They couldn’t do anything against us (until garbage time) in our regular season game. Also want to avoid Toledo at all costs
In the event we lose to BG, unclear if we’re better off if Ohio wins or Toledo wins.
Lots of factors to consider, I suppose.
Obviously, just Beat BG!!
Then, beat whoever in Detroit.
Toledo also plays Akron on Tuesday. If (meaning when) the Rockets win that game, they’d have extra days of rest over Miami, BG, and OU, as all of those team play a week from Friday.
Plus, Gleason has the worst tattoos in college football. No reason to have that temporary tattoo starter kit on display in Detroit.
OU about to put this one away…up 21-7 and inside the UT 10 w less than 4 minutes remaining. We beat OU and lost to Toledo so isn’t this a slightly better outcome for us in terms of tie breakers?
