Kent St. game thread (11/13)

Hesson didn’t do that great a job at making sure he pushed that guy out of bounds before the goal line

Yep, Henry could keep the ball on the read option occasionally at least. Run for a few then slide. Show something different.

Chuck doesn’t care…he just wants to shorten the game and get it over with…

Inadvertent whistle. Lol

What a break that would be if it were a close game

It’s 30.5 so we need to score

Not likely now…

If that was us, the internet would be on fire. Yikes, feel sorry for the kid who “didn’t “ score.

Yeah it gave the Kent State bench quite a charge in a season berift of many of those moments.

A lot of work to do before Northern, but will take the win

Well we win 34-7 and become bowl eligible. Things could be worse :grinning:

With the game wrapping up, I can finally ask…

Can you really be called “Big Play” McCray if your team is 0-10?

Yea us!

Early in the EMU game, we were tied 7-7 and the record was 1-4 (0-1). The defense stopped EMU and forced a punt. We fumbled that punt and allowed EMU to set up at midfield. The two teams exchanged punts and a kick catch interference call again allowed EMU to start at midfield.

At that time, I wrote that as the saying goes, “You are what your record indicates. And we deserve to be 1-4.”

Since then, Miami has outscored the opposition by a combined score of 168-62.

So what are we now? We deserve this 6-4 record. We deserve the 5-game winning streak. We deserve bowl eligibility. And we deserve to be in control of our own destiny when it comes to the MACC.

Glad to get the win! Early Kent TD was worrisome as was our inability to control their offense in the first quarter. Our D played better as the game progressed, and it would seem we made some helpful halftime adjustments.

Some great running by our running backs, particularly Mozee and Davis as well when given some touches.

Not Brett’s best night despite some huge passing plays, but hey, it was raining like crazy plus a couple of balls he threw were catchable but dropped.

We’ll take the win and move forward…two tough games left!

I’m happy we won.
I’m sad we did not win 56-0.
I’m also sad when I saw the image of no one in the stands on TV.
(Crap weather and mid week but still sad so makes some sense)

Yeah it is pretty jarring to see essentially no fans in a stadium for a D I football team. Oh well… that’s what MACtion gets ya on a rainy mid-week game in November.

Midweek Maction never has attendance. It’s only “good” for TV exposure. I wish Miami didn’t play in the midweek games. Only on Saturdays and maybe an occasional Thursday/Friday game
